Best part of working at OTF is the free membership that comes with it. The workouts are amazing and super fun. Not sure I would work there if it wasn't for the free classes.

It's a great place to be. Management is very supportive! It's a competitive environment with sales, but great rewards and motivation. Free membership at the gym which is great. I was treated so fairly and it is a great work environment. They give lots of room to grow as long as you work hard and are passionate and motivated. A good job for a problem solver and hard worker!

Had lots of good workers but Never called them back and hired all new for no reason, no explanation. Let a manager go due to their finances and hid pay stubs for months from employees. commission was capped and the stress to make sales was extremely high. Wasn't appreciated or respected unless you're a coach.

I was a member at this location for about a year, I really enjoyed the workout and it seemed like a cool and fun place to work as I was not happy with my pervious employer. Shortly after I started I began to feel uncomfortable. The current sales team are mostly students and are friends. They would talk about hanging out together in front of me and never made any attempt to make me feel welcome, however two of the coaches were very nice to me.

The training was very quick, there was not a lot a room for error and no real support. I felt very much “thrown to the wolves”


The head coach/studio manager/ part owner does not know how to run a business they pretty much told me so themselves. The rules also changed depending if the other owners were in the studio or not.


If you are a student and not planning on staying here long this would be a good job for you. The studio manager seems to like employees that won’t be here for long. If you are looking for a career I would suggest you look else where

Great training program. Orangetheory is a leader in the fitness field. They have technology that is used to monitor your heart rate and shows calories burned in real time.

Probably one of the most depressing jobs I have ever had.

They expect you to call/text the same people every single day to try and sell them a membership to the point it becomes borderline harassment.


In Calgary , they also pay you below minimum wage which is completely illegal (if they even pay you at all). I had to contact labour board just to try and get the company to pay me what they owe me. I suggest anyone who’s worked there in the last 6 months to do the same as they owe you money.


They also have a habit of skimming money from your commission as well. They will try to get out of paying you fully by any means necessary.

Very toxic and high-school like environment. Managers were changed often and those hired were not productive to store objectives. Felt like we were being babied, and truly bullied by managers in charge. While a handful of coworkers and sales associate were great to chat with, the majority that were hired should not have been hired in the first place. Love their workouts, hated working there.

The manger is horrible, rude, talks behind your back, hours are unfair expected to work till 9:30 one day then 5:30am the next, very competitive your nothing without sales

Horrible organization, and not worth the headache! For the short period of time I was there, I worked over 50 hours a week, every week, and constantly understaffed. The owner, without doing any work, collects most of the commissions, so your pay is horrible for the amount of time and stress you dedicate.

Micro-managed, high expectations with minimal reward (commissions)
Poor training, and ongoing drama

In summary: great way to gain experience in sales and costumer service (CRM, etc). Interact with members and build relationships.

Very unprofessional and they did not provide me with pay stubs or adequate training. The work atmosphere is horrible and toxic. The owner and manager have no idea what they are doing and display that multiple times through failed meetings and a poor effort to fix problems.

The location i worked at had slow foot traffic and little opportunities so it was hard to reach monthly sales goals of 20. I would always get close and put in max effort, I would open the studio work over 40 hour weeks 12 days in a row. I put so much effort and love into the studio and after a year of working there they decided to cut me and my co workers hours and hire new staff in front of us. The manager even defended me to get my hours back. Literally only care about the numbers

I worked at the seton location. When they hired me the said I would be full time and permanent the said my starting wage was 15 and hour but when I started making sales it would drop to 13 an hour. The management was not good everyone talked negative behind everyone’s back. I was kept until after Christmas when I then got a phone call saying that there wasn’t enough work for me now and my last shift was the night before. The never told me that I was only in vet Christmas and later on was informed that I was actually seasonal but they didn’t want to tell me that because they couldn’t risk being short staffed for the holiday. I would not recommend working here to anyone.

Only worked for 3 weeks before getting laid off, because my schedule wasn't what they wanted (even when I told them that I'd be busy when they asked during the interview.) They didn't give breaks to employees at my location, even when you had an 8.5 hour shift and started at 5 a.m.
The pay was nice, but not for what they expect from you on your first day, it caused a lot of anxiety and stress to try and fit everything into my daily schedule. And if you wanted to switch shifts, good luck. The atmosphere is okay if you like pushing for sales, but if you're slightly more shy, it can be overwhelming. Company is very concerned about making loads of money, and not about having good customer service. Overall, wouldn't recommend but it was a good learning experience while it lasted.

Overall I love the message of the company. The owner however is someone who goes against everything I believe in and I hated working for him. I didn’t learn anything new, just more of the same. The owner put me on edge and made me uncomfortable more often than not. No room for mistakes or error, no room for growth.

While I enjoy the Orangetheory workout itself, the employers of OTF Mississauga are terrible. Management are not trustworthy and can be inappropriate at times at work. The staff turn around is quick, and there is little room for advancement, even if you are a great employee. You are often overworked and underpaid.

Pretty relaxed job as a receptionist but sales expectations don't make any sense. Under payed for the amount you're investing for a job not a career..

Managers don’t care for the staff at all.
Managers will take your sales and your commissions.

For the most part the coaches were encouraging but a few of them were rude and too demanding.

There is no break room and the manager will only give up the office for a select few staff to have lunch otherwise we were left to eat in the the shower room on break which is gross.

No one meets there sales goals every month and upper staff will not accommodate for the traffic in the studio.


10/10 would not recommend working at OTF

The managers and owners use fear and threats to make you work "harder" and sell more memberships - you never know if you're going to be fired or not when showing up to work. The people in "power" positions are super nice at the beginning and then they are super moody and you never know what the mood will be like when you're on shift. They also call you when you're off work and disrupt your work-life balance. The workout is great, but I advise to not work there.

Management is terrible, toxic environment , they throw their employees under the bus. They talk behind your back and other people's backs. They even bad mouth their paying members !

I'm glad I only lasted barely 3 months, because I was going to quit. Commission structure also terrible and not organized.
