that right it’s a legal sweat shop and everyone knows. Hard work for some people, but that doesn’t to them 15$ hour? Pay for good people, not here!! Just hire more people they don’t care. No where to go finance wise here! Always broke for rest of your life?? Does that not sound good? Get a job somewhere else!!
lots of benefits of working here. the best thing is they give chance to students as a seasonal workers. machines are really fast but with time, we become used to of this. and lots of breaks!!! best thing!!!
bad bad bad.I learned that schools and trading are the ways to go. It was very hard and difficult, I had a hard time hearing and smelled like meat after an hour in.

i liked working with olymel but they didnt pay me the hours i put in they ripped off alot of hours and the people there are so disrespectful i would work there again if there was better managment and not theives working there
everything aside from a couple good people working there
i been working for olymel back in montreal from mar to may 2019 and so fare everything was good except from the injury i had at work plus i needed to be relocate to another state for personal reason in short i enjoyed working with olymel and also they bwas very friendly.
To work here, you have to work fast and not take the management's criticism too personally. There was a lot of pressure in the first couple weeks. Otherwise, the pay was fine and the environment was friendly enough in the break room. It was an ok summer job, but I don't want to go back
The pigs are treated better than the employees , supervisors are ok as long as they aren't messing around together....and some are ! Some areas are extremely cold as well.

The hardest part of the job is that you are working inside a freezer so usually when your done work and gets home you'll feel really tired. The good part is there's no work on Weekends. But there's always overtime like almost everyday so sometimes it's already tiring.
Guaranteed 37 hours time given week plus overtime. Although sometimes too much overtime is so tiring. The only things that bothers me is that we are working inside the freezer so usually at the end of every shift I feel very week from the coldness of the place. No Saturdays and Sundays which is good.

Olymel was a great workplace with a lot of opportunities to gain knowledge in many areas. the people were friendly, the environment was nice and the benefits were great.
There's two shift day and evening, I am on evening shift so I work 3:30 to 12 AM. We do a lot of repetitive work. you learn the lines pretty quietly and my co worker are great people. There's isn't a lot of hard work in the department that I am in, we have three department slicing, ready to cool, and ready to eat. the hardest department is ham other than that everything is good.
on your feet all day
Every day you are set to start in a certain position and rotate positions every hour. Every individual shares a different job and is in teams. I learned that not everybody is going to like you, I learned how to weigh products and how to tell good product from bad product. Some of the supervisors were laid back and reasonable people, others were pushy and made the employees feel unmotivated to do the job. I enjoyed working with some of my co-workers but some drama was involved and some co-workers dislike each other, which makes it difficult to have a fun work environment when you work with the same group of people every day. The hardest part of the job was keeping up the pace with the machines and rest of the group, it was also very difficult to be in a position in which I was not trained to do the job properly. The most enjoyable part of the job was some of the people and having fun and joking around to let the time pass as we worked.
long hours standing, unfair treatment
monday is the typical day of this job. i learned to many things in this job like operating a advance machinery for cutting meats. the management for me is not really good and there is a culture discremination in the workplace.
