Super fast paced job. Must be able to keep up with multiple ongoing priorities. Must be able to go with business needs when it comes to schedule. Pay is low for the amount of work expected and required. Very high expectations, with minimal pay.

Good Customer Service

A day working at Old Navy involves comfortable and confident customer interactions by having good product knowledge, urgency, and friendliness. I learned the characteristics needed to deliver whole-hearted customer service. The largest difficulty would arise with technical and mechanical malfunctions which would usually be at the customer's expense. To deal with these unavoidable issues, I would offer thorough explanations, and a guarantee that the customer would not leave unless they felt content with their store visit. And this is the most enjoyable part of the job, being able to solve and reach resolution in the trickiest of situations.

My job is fairly simple. Be courteous, fast, and energetic. Get customers excited about promotions and product. Be the face of Old Navy and exemplify their core values in the work you do everyday. More technically, I was also responsible for being a key-holder, a position where the next step up in the company's hierarchy is management. I am entrusted to count the nightly deposits, and to ensure the store funds are balanced upon store open. As I have achieved an exalted position at Old Navy, I am also instructed to train other associates on best practices, and even on basic associate tasks like ringing a customer through the register, or maintaining visuals. I find the hardest part of the job is trying to keep up with how many discounts Old Navy makes accessible to the customer, and the amount of exclusions that come with said discounts. However, nothing beats making someone's day by selling them quality product at a price that honestly cannot be beat.

Toxic management

In the beginning working here was alright, but once they had new management it was a disaster. If you’re a student and seem as though you prioritize anything else over working, they’ll automatically dislike you and cut your hours. They only want people who live and breathe for the company.
