Great Pay and bonus but no life and balance

Avis en vedette

L'avis le plus utile, sélectionné par Indeed
Company offers great wage and bonus structure with a excellent discount and benefits, upper office is very organized . Can be a bit clickie with upper field and manipulation need to be very careful with who you trust. Don’t assume you will have a outside life it’s very normal for GMs to work endless hours and regardless of the work you put in the company sees what’s not being done they are extremely criticize and hard or please so the money isn’t worth the mental stress and not having time for family they don’t care about your personal life it’s all business with them.

Fast paced and challenging

Busy, fast paced environment. Not for the faint of heart. Challenging payroll model. Great benefits and amazing people make it worth it at the end of the day.

Started out great but after COVID not so much

Fairly long term employee at Old Navy. Was given good autonomy to run my store successfully but when COVID hit the company changed it’s focus to a micromanagement focus. A specific metric would be top to the exclusion of all others and then would change on a dime. Direction to do moves would come and then days after spending the payroll direction. Would come to change without additional payroll. Additionally, no work life balance. You are tethered to your phone because if your DM sends a text they need the answer now. If there was a zoom call on a day off you were still expected to attend.

Points positifs

Good pay for leaders

Points négatifs

No work/life, micromanaged, low hours for associates, lack of focus

I have nothing good to say. Not a good company to work for. No work life balance. Stressful most of the time No hours for staff! And too much pressure with no positive feedback

Worst company I have ever worked for.

Upper management has no concept of what it takes to run each individual store. They expect that all store run the same and are not willing to identify opportunities for each individual store! Would not recommend this company for management nor sales associates.

Points positifs

Management pays well

Points négatifs

Poor upper management

Disappointment after disappointment

From my on-boarding I should have ran but I had already resigned from my previous position and the manager I interviewed with was inspiring enough for me to give it a shot. Unfortunately that’s where the inspiration ended. Horrible “standard operating procedures”, inconsistent and ever changing directives from HQ. So many opportunities to improve but too ignorant to listen or selective to hear only the same thing from people who’ve only known the “OLD NAVY” way. Absolutely no concept of work/life balance or employee retention. I really was hoping this was going to be my last job change for a while but my tenure will be limited.

Pays well but not enough outside experience in upper field

I just find that there is too much direction from the people that work behind a desk. We have to touch the same merchandise up to 4 times. A lot of time wasted. Payroll is almost non existent. Big store and only 1 leader and 2 associates to run it!

Points positifs

pays well

Points négatifs

Stressful

Found it challanging to keep up with the amount of product organizations with the amount of payroll given

Found it extremely challenging to keep up with the amount of work needing to be done on a daily basis just to keep up with the visual responsibilities of the store. Even at the fast pace that our team worked it was a never ending cycle of visual flips and not enough staff support to get it all done.

So-so

Overall okay but expectations are a bit unrealistic when you have no payroll. Stores are impossible to maintain and the company does not want to invest into them.

Decent place to work for retail

Old Navy is a decent company to work for with advantages and disadvantages. As a company in the retail sector it is one of the better ones to work for overall.

Each day is something new

Working for Gap inc. you need to be on the tip of your toes each and every day. Plans change in a blink of an eye and you need to be on top of it. Working for them you really learn how to multitask.
