Manipulative work environment
Packer (Ancien employé) –  Winnipeg, MB14 août 2019
This is a very manipulative work environment. On going harassment on floor, the managers will also harass you. It’s just an awful work place all around. They do not value anyone with a decent demeanour. They will only keep on two or less people that are legitimately nice, the rest Beware, are very very rude. They won’t let you know when you are late, they will automatically change the times on the schedule so that it makes it look like your late. Very dishonest company, also it’s ridiculously dirty in there and they expect you to have clean white clothes at all times when there’s dirt everywhere, they are way too cheap to replace the equipment!! Lol to think that’s where chips are being made!! WOW. Oh ya! They also lie throughout the interview and say only 8 hour shifts mon-fri when in reality you work 10 hours mon-sat. Not sure why they feel the need to lie, like I said, dishonest company. I worked at the Winnipeg, Mb location on Bentall St.

Sales Representative (Ancien employé) –  Toronto, ON12 août 2019
If you’re willing to work for minimum wage, then it’s for you ! Long hours. Even the holiday replacement doesn’t want a route. Be very weary. You do all the work

Horrible Career Choice ( 100% commission)
Owner/Operator (Ancien employé) –  Calgary, AB8 juin 2019
I have worked here for 12 years (unfortunately),
Upper management changed mid-point and it was all down hill from there especially in the sales numbers,
From the marketing department to the senior and junior management team the inexperience shows hence it obviously trickled down to the sales numbers,
Almost all employees (except management) complain about the poor wages and benefits ie none for independent distributors!
They got you by you know what from day one because of all the financial obligations that’s involved for being an independent distributor which makes it difficult to get out .
BOTTOM LINE work here as a LAST RESORT!!!!

Really Good Experience
Chip Packer (Ancien employé) –  Lachine, QC5 juin 2019
Working in a factory was not easy, the days were long. But I was able to learn more from those who had been working there for years.

The pay was really good for a student and they had really good benefits.
I wish they had not closed down.

Distributor
Delivery Driver/Sales Representative (Ancien employé) –  Fort St. John, BC25 mai 2019
Amazing place to work, mostly you are on your own and if you treat it like your business you will care.

And more you care, noone will come and bother you about anything. You are your own boss, and company treat you like one.

Manager's help is mostly not required, but otherwise it depends on who you are working with, my experience was great, but others might say it differently.
Points positifs
Own timing, home every evening, flexibility
Points négatifs

Not hard work but long hours at time
Relief driver (Employé actuel) –  Burnaby, BC4 avril 2019
Old Dutch is a fun place to work and you can turn into being a distributor.
As a distributor you can make a decent living.
As a relief driver you are going into different areas every week, which can be stressful driving a 5 ton truck.

Good quality people
Route Sales Representative (Ancien employé) –  Kingston, ON21 février 2019
I worked as a Sales Rep for Old Dutch Foods for about a year and a half. The job is pretty much what you would expect. You show up to large format and small format stores, fill shelves, up sell products and ensure proper merchandising. If you do a good job and follow guidelines you are pretty much left to your own. As with any commission based job, your pay cheque fluctuates depending on time of year and sales on. If you can work at a decent pace, be self motivated and deal with some pay fluctuations I would recommend this position.
Points positifs
independance and variety

pay is up and down from month to month

Just a job
ROUTE SALES REPRESENTATIVE (Employé actuel) –  Ottawa, ON10 février 2019
Regular company to work for, long hours (9-10 a day), one man operation style; you have to load, sell, deliver and merch old dutch products, then tight carboard and load your truck again for the following day. Lots of work for a commission based work, which 80-90% of the times is really low money.
Points positifs
you work at your own pace, freedom, and you meet nice people out there; also you learn lots about retail sales.
Points négatifs
Bad management, bad communication, demotivated team, lack of information and trainning, long hours, low pay.

Service Sales Rep. Worst Job Ever. AVOID COMPANY
Sales Representative (Ancien employé) –  Scarborough, ON5 décembre 2018
This company is one of the most unorganized companies to work for. They don't know the sales and promotions going on half the time so setting up displays to hit your commission goals is impossible. Working 12 to 14 hour days going to 20 dollar calls 40 minutes off your route. Loads you place are either late or don't have half the stock you ordered, or both. Management will never have your back with Managers that are unfair and unwilling to take your product over Frito Lay. Have to maintain every aspect of your own truck from oil changes, to changing winter tires, to painting chips and scratches, all on your work time so taking away from your sales to fix there company trucks. Was told to switch from Mon-Fri work week to Tues-Sat which was very frustrating. Have no chance to compete against Frito Lay in the market. If your route has any kind of seasonal business you will be making nothing in the off season as it is strictly commission based salary. Can get paid 250 a week sometimes with the commission your making.

Terrible way to make a living
Route Sales Representative (Ancien employé) –  Cape Breton, NS13 novembre 2018
Work 12-14 hours a day on commission only. Starvation. No help from management. But was lazy and took credit or everything. Drive 20km to do a $20 stop. Terrible. Would not recommend this company to anybody. Stores would favour Lays.

Great company to work with
Sales Rep (Ancien employé) –  Scarborough, ON24 octobre 2018
Phenomenal company with great pay and benefits. They are huge in the west. Wish they were big in Ontario as well. Their HD snacks are #1 in the category. Put the Frito Displayer and Old Duch Humpty Displayer together with same price point, Humpty snacks will out sell Frito snacks.
Points positifs
Great Management team, their sleeve are always rolled up to help the reps in the truck and the market as well
Points négatifs
Sometimes loong hours
