Great for students. I worked there in Highschool before moving for college but the management was great, and I could walk in there knowing what my job was, do it, and then go home. Very few surprises, and not a lot of customer service needed. Sometimes someone would ask where to find a particular book but customer interaction was minimal.
Okanagan Regional Library was a great work environment for me. The atmosphere was great, my supervisors were very supportive and willing to help as well. They clearly lay out tasks to do and help give advice on the best ways to do them. I learned a lot about the workings of the library and the valuable tools for my future careers and personal life. The hardest part of the job for me was the lack of ability to advance. I was working as a Page, which is an entry position, however there did not appear to be any possibility for future advancements. This was a great starter job, and I was a high school student while employed. The hours were flexible and the pay was great. All in all I would definitely suggest working at the Okanagan Regional Library as a Page if you are a student especially, or just looking for a little more hours in your existing work schedule.
