The most enjoyable part of the job.
Lube Technician (Ancien employé) –  Barrie, ON3 février 2020
I would have to say the most enjoyable part of this job was the amazing coworkers. Well put together team that could easily accomplish the tasks at hand.

Enjoyed working there, most workers are fair and nice. But have only been and worked at the one location, but seems to be doing well since I have left my position

It was easy work, you changed oil all day. I learned how to change oil and it was a step towards something I wanted to become which was a mechanic. management was great.

Repetitive and wierd time off schedule. 3 12 hour shifts but then 3 days off was actually nice.
Managment got better over my time working there when old manager left.

It would be slavery if it wasn't for the dollar sign
Lube Technician (Ancien employé) –  Ottawa, ON29 mai 2019
The pay was garbage. Regardless of how long you work for crooks, they won't care so long as they get what they want which means more money. They promise raises, but never deliver. They don't care about your experience. They start you at minimum wage and they give you raises just so long as you can keep kissing their rears.

Doing their work was worse than burning alive. Working in tight spaces, dank environments, and with primitive tools takes its toll on a person. The smell in the basement was a mixture of rot and mold. Smells like dead people. That's something you can't get out of your nose for a long time.

They didn't care who got injured. Filling WSIB forms was more painful than the injuries I recieved because they were more fearful of looking bad instead of caring about helping someone who's hurt.

A lot of the times, split shifts were a must. If you didn't follow their rules, they would cut your hours without any warning. "Like, who has bills and debts, right?"

Seniority never wins. Whoever kisses the most butt gets the highest rewards.

Some people were cool, though.. but only some! Whenever a customer left the shop, most of the staff would talk smack on that customer (regardless of how nice they were). Fast and friendly to your face, but once you turn around and you're out of sight, it's as if you're the most hated person in the world. Which brings me to say this: because it's such a small "team," and the hours are split into mornings and afternoons, during down time: most of the staff will fill their time talking poorly about other employees. And this was
plus... a regular, normal thing. Literally, every day, once you're not around, you are their lightning rod of hate. This goes for everybody.

During training, if you struggle to comprehend English, or struggle picking up their work flow, or struggle to understand what they're trying to teach you, they will make your life a living nightmare until they convince the manager to can you prior to your 3 month probation being over.

Gotta say, the owners are super nice! If only they knew what the majority of the employees go through.

All of this stuff is terrible on a person's psyche. They harass. That's it, that's all. Find somewhere else who's willing to teach you how to better yourself. There's no future there. No growth. No fun. Only hate.

Great employees bad management
Lube Technician (Ancien employé) –  Oil changers North York31 mars 2019
Very good customer service, great team work except the manager pretty much doesn’t do anything doesn’t motivate nor discipline the employees doesn’t help out all he really does is give out inventory he was just an employee promoted to manager with no manager experience or the character to be one

Learn lots but supervisors are basically experienced employees
Lube Technician (Ancien employé) –  Brampton, ON17 mars 2019
Working at Oil Changers was a great way to learn things about cars, changing air filters, cabin filters, and oil filters. I worked there for a learning experience instead of the actual pay. The supervisor(s) are basically experienced employees that are given a title so they don't quit the job. They are basically the job bully instead of motivating or inspiring employees to work in a specific way.
Points positifs
Good hours, lots to learn.
Points négatifs
Unprofessional supervisors with lots of attitude.

very busy
Lube and Tire Technician (Ancien employé) –  Brampton, ON14 mars 2019
very professional and busy. Cars are always showing up. This oil change facility has been the most reliable, professional and punctual place i have ever worked. they never did bad work and if there was a problem created by them, it was always resolved no matter the cost. I actually recommed many people to get service on there cars here as you can have piece of mind nothing will go wrong and if something does they take accountability for there actions

Terrible work environment
Technician (Ancien employé) –  Kingston, ON25 juillet 2018
After new owners head office took over and sent down a new manager for the princess location everything went down hill. He’s unqualified and untrained for the job, never does schedules in a timely manner, and never shares work load. It’s not a fun place to be, and the pay is absolutely horrible. We were promised a raise by the owner when they took over and it’s now almost been a year and we have seen nothing.

Good Staff, Bad Management
Asst. Manager (Ancien employé) –  Barrie, ON24 avril 2018
The work and the staff are both pleasant. The management on the other hand is very poor. Little to no support and a they promote a very toxic work environment. From my experience the owner also cares very little about the employees.

Lube Technician (Ancien employé) –  Ottawa, ON6 février 2018
Oil Changers was great to work for! The management and owners were always nice and willing to help you out in any way they could. I really felt like part of the family, as they call it. Salary was fair, they included benefits which was amazing! They like to keep good staff in the business, many employees moved up to management and now own their own franchises!
Points positifs
great team, benefits
Points négatifs
some customers aren't the nicest
