They always make sure clients and caregivershave a good quality relationship. All staff and co workers I have met are great people.
Great people and Company, they check in with clients and staff concerns to ensure all their needs are being met. NOT Companys control or fault, but its Not a real reliable / regular schedule, guaranteed hrs. Clients get healthy, move, go into hospital, ect. So your schedule can change alot. Big benefit if you want to choose the days you want to work. No real advancement without further education schooled courses, updates or experience. These
Pick your days/ schedule. Always make sure staff and client get along.
No guaranteed hrs, no Benefits. No real contact with co workers, sometimes information does not get passed on to all channels.to all
The best thing about working for Nurse Next Door was that they worked with me on a schedule that fit in with my other job. Management was very kind and listened if I had a concern. There was a lot of travelling to see clients and the majority of offers I received were too far away from my home and not worthwhile to do a short shift. If you live closer to a larger centre, there is more work.

I've worked with this company for almost six years. I have felt valued and appreciated. They have provided me with a multitude of different scenarios which have been both stimulating and rewarding. I've had many opportunities to draw from my formal RN training in order to problem solve and ths has been advantageous on many an occasion.
Was working with them many years. Since they hired care designers, never been happy anymore. Taking my hours to give to someone else. You couldn’t rely on them. They didn’t care about employees loyalty. I had a really bad experiences working with care designers who’s acting so bossy!
Nurse next door is a reliable homecare service that takes the time to accommodate both the client and the employees as best as they can.
Since I started working with nurse next door I have nothing but good things to say about this company. They are professional, accommodating, take the time to match clients with suitable caregivers. Incentives and recognition for quality care. Genuine people who truly care for our elderly.
Love working there girls at office very professional the bosses are great hours are there very friendly people to work for I enjoy the fact that I can get out ther taking care of seniors who really needs the help
Great company , coworkers are very friendly caring loving and easy going working with nurse next door taught me a lot about our community
Very nice people ,lots of competitive hours, meet lots of wonderful people and give back to the community. Nurse next door helps to fold a better community for people who need the help and support with there every day DDLs and more
The most important part is the core of values that make you a better worker compare with other agencies. The staff in the office work very hard to give you the number of hours that you want to schedule every week. Time is flexible. You get extra money for every kilometre working outside of Calgary. You can book in advance your time off.
Wages are terrible, no travel time or mileage. No appreciation or loyalty from management. No sick time or benefits. I feel this company is for those who are desperate. This should be a last resort employer. Run away.
Scheduling was very flexible and the call centre staff was always very friendly and helpful. Time off and changing availability was never a problem with 2-weeks notice.Management was also very friendly, but the company was poorly managed. Very short staffed so caregivers are overworked (you may work a 24-hr shift with few/no breaks if no one can cover you). On the bright side, I never had a problem getting hours even as a casual.
No trouble getting hours, kind and helpful staff
Understaffed and overworked
I provided a high level of care to seniors with severe dementia. Caregiver designed to enhance the well being if the elderly with support and dignity in everyday life. Assisting clients to achieve everyday tasks such as personal care, dressing, meal preparation, exercise, medication reminders, case management, homemaking and companionship.
Scheduling seems to be problematic, since receiving multiple calls and text per day, re: new jobs. Never knowing from day to day your schedule ahead of time, which contributes to rather poor work/life balance. Also, doing jobs not necessarily according to your best qualifications - demanding!
possibility of working on your terms and within your schedule
constant push to work more hours and overnight
I worked at NND for about 8 months. During my time I had amazing clients that I will never forget and learned a lot of skills that will help me in any job. I also gained a lot of confidence caring for others. NND helped me get into my dream nursing school because of the valueable experience I had there and I'm forever thankful! I recommend anyone working there. The management was great and hours were very flexible wich I appreciated!
