Care about the caregivers, not just office staff.
Have regular debriefing meetings with caregivers.
Get all staff together for meetings, lunches, parties, get togethers - not just office staff.
Send a quick email on caregiver's birthday/ hire anniversaries, to make them feel like they matter.
Treat them like they're human with outside lives and not just employee robots.
Be compassionate when caregivers are ill, not act like it's an inconvenience.
Don't send caregivers to clients that are beyond the their scope of experience/ education.
(Some caregivers are not certified HCAs and have no training/knowledge of complex care).
Increase pay to be at least somewhat close to industry rates.
Assign caregivers with a manager/support person that they can build a repport with and go to when they need someone they trust to talk to.
Foster team unity, instead of caregivers feeling isolated and sometimes pitted against each other.
Ask the company to treat every one equally as they( Management at Nurse Next Door) want to be treated.
Be transparent and do not cover up just to fill in for an assignment!
Pay milliage for gas. Expensive driving to several visits daily and to other towns.
Hire real management without agendas based on extremely one sided stories. In other words, hire a professional.
Pay your employees a competitive wage with the rest of the Province.
Don't send people who have paid a ridiculous amount of tuition on jobs for companionship.
