HEO (Ancien employé) - Fort McMurray, AB - 24 mars 2023
Pay is alright. Management is meh. They don’t put much care into the employees. Found it difficult to work there, after 3 years I called it quits.

Equipment Operator (Employé actuel) - Fort McMurray, AB - 20 janvier 2023
Good all around but extremely difficult or nearly impossible to get out of the piece of equipment you were hired for. Would definitely recommend if you want a job but don’t want to advance.

Great co workers
Warehouse Technician (Employé actuel) - Fort McMurray, AB - 15 janvier 2023
Warehouse isn’t even considered part of the so called team. They are never included in any bonuses . As for management well no management in the warehouse.. hold the chair down or work your butt off doesn’t matter . No accountability for anyone or anything. Miss leading .. say rates up to $49 an hour well guess what that’s really $36 per hour on the pay. Advertise as days only when it’s nights also. However if u want to learn the whole warehouse process there are a couple there to learn fr and know it well but never get the credit . Meet some amazing people there but no one stays long . They like to put a divide amongst the trades by offering different things to different trades and expect everyone to give their all . Absolutely NO recognition
Points positifs
Meeting great people
Points négatifs
Too many to list

Busy, constant change
Heavy Equipment Operator (Ancien employé) - Fort McMurray, AB - 6 janvier 2023
North American works in the heavy construction industry, mostly mining environments, various sites are under different contracts so asking questions is the best policy. Supervision varies from site to site but is mostly good on the whole.
Points positifs
Competitive wage
Points négatifs
Long hours, different contacts for each site

Decent workplace
Heavy Equipment Operator (Employé actuel) - Fort McMurray, AB - 29 décembre 2022
Decent place to work, good wages, good environment. Takes a while for issues to get resolved and quite a bit of info is left out during daily psi meetings

Heavy Duty Mechanic (Employé actuel) - Acheson, AB - 17 décembre 2022
Good pay ,but if you constantly want to be looking over your shoulder it's the place for you ,certain vertically challenged job planners think they own the place and somehow have the power to write you up for virtually nothing this toxic individual has somehow managed to work for nacg for 20 years
Points positifs

Points négatifs

Haul truck Operator (Employé actuel) - Fort McMurray, AB - 11 décembre 2022
It’s love to work not work to live, broken promises, if you’re not a favourite you won’t go anywhere, bias towards women, your only a truck driver in there eyes nothing more

Great Work Environment
Haul Truck operator (Ancien employé) - Fort McMurray, AB - 15 novembre 2022
North American Construction Group is one of the best places to start your career. Everyone works as a team, competitive pay, great rotations, understanding bosses, and many bonuses and perks of working with this company. I only spent a short 6 months with them but it was a great 6 months. Looking forward to going back in the future.

Stressful
Equipment Operator (Ancien employé) - Fort Hills, AB - 5 novembre 2022
The training is very poor even though they have alot of so called trainers, who train knowone, it amazes me that they even have the job, in the year I spent there, I never see them train anyone, this once good union company are so far up the unions bum ,union workers pay 148 dollars a month for no more than a placement agent, at Fort Hills they overhire , you spend as much time in camp without pay, I don't know how there allowed to get away with it , if your smart you won't work for this, poorly managed company.
Points positifs
Pay
Points négatifs
Poor mgmt

Good coworkers
Support Operator (Ancien employé) - Fort Hills, AB - 7 septembre 2022
Good stepping stone. It's a place to go if you hit rock bottom and wanting to start over again. Huge turnover rate. There are way better employers out there.

Okay if you don’t like time off with your family or want to make money fast
Haul Truck Operator (Ancien employé) - Fort McMurray, AB - 17 août 2022
Overall not a bad place to work. Pay was awesome. Some of the foremen are hard to get along with and like to be condescending/ yell at their guys, but they’re mostly pretty good. The biggest issue I have is the 14/7 schedule. You get very little time off with your family, and by the time you switch over to night shift after working 7 days, you’re exhausted. I believe in having an even work life balance and spending as much time as possible with my loved ones, so this conflicted with my personal views. However, for someone who doesn’t mind working most days, the money was awesome. Overall I would recommend to someone else, however I wouldn’t go back myself.

Decent place to work with great shift/work-life balance
Journeyman welder (Ancien employé) - Fort McMurray, AB - 7 juillet 2022
Decent pay for welders. Will train for further and fairly easy going allowing you to learn. Every job has good and bad, could be a bit more organized but overall fun and rewarding place to work! 14 on 14 off schedule and 140k/yr + benefits is nothing to complain about if your willing to work away.
