If you can get one, that is. Doesn’t seem like Human Resources is into helping people better their capacities to even get an interview. Many of the things you’ve listed, I’ve said in emails and cover letters to no avail. So if someone gets an interview, likely they know someone really in.
How it worked is that employer had an 10 min interview with the student, ask questions on the abilities of the student, and later asks if there's any accommdates that are to be made before the job, (they also want to make sure you can flex your school hours with your job), and they try to work the way around it because school was the most important.
