Working with international students is the highlight of working here. However, you will do so much but not appreciated enough and not paid well.
Also, the management team lacks effective leadership skills.

You will be working full time hours (at times) and getting paid on a contract basis- which is a very small amount compared to the amount of work required of you.

Expect to make an average of 3 to 4 dollars an hour after you pay out of pocket for the following:

your own taxes ( they don't deduct that from your pay) , gas , wear and tear , meals, ink , paper, pens, hours on the phone, hours spent writing emails and text messages, and hours doing home assessments. The company covers none of that.

There is no hourly pay rate , kilometers are not covered and there are absolutely no perks or benefits to working in this position. You get paid a small sum for each student that you have placed here in Canada and receive that monthly until the student returns home. You also get a small sum if your able to recruit a family to host that student which is a 1 time payment. That's it! Every other bit of work you do for this company , comes unpaid and will be at your own cost.

Most of the work you do on a daily basis- they don't pay for

There is a major lack of support from upper management, lack of knowledge and lack of communication - that interfered with day to day maintenance of the homes and students.

All together, this is one of the worst jobs I've ever had, honestly.

This position may work for somebody who has no other job or responsibilities. If you have another job ( and you will need another job to survive) expect this job to interfere often with that job and take up the majority of your time.

The only perk was being able to meet and get to know some wonderful
 - plus...
Points positifs
Working with international students, working with families

Although this company has grown they have not advanced with current times. Most employees are very stressed and overworked but management is not willing to change. During my time with the company I saw many really amazing people leave and upper management really did not care. This is likely because the turn over is so high.
Points positifs
Flexible
Points négatifs
No support

This job should be classified as a volunteer position.
You put in a lot of time and are not paid for it.

You are on call 24 hours a day.

You are asked to do for too much.

High turnover.
After my first month, I was the most senior employee in my department after 3 others left... 3 other people left other departments.

This is probably due to the crippling discrepancy between number of hours you are recorded working (paid) and the number of hours you are actually working (unpaid).

In Japanese, this is called ブラック企業

This rumour comes from multiple employees, those who've left the company and those still working there.
Points positifs
Work phone and work laptop provided
Points négatifs
(Unpaid) Overtime expected, on call availability also expected

I enjoy the job meeting new families and meeting kids from around the world.

hard part about the job is the constant delaying of 'appointments' and 'calls' and responses to questions about issues from management.

independent job most of the time. Some of the processes need changing. I started as a host family and landed the job through complaining about some protocol and hope to change a few things down the road.
Points positifs
meeting new people
Points négatifs
lack of communication when needed.

Though the job was very short lived it was great. The students, teachers and principal where some of the nicest people id ever had the chance of meeting. The students seemed to love learning English and i enjoyed teaching them.
