Poor dc managment
Manager (Ancien employé) –  Brampton, ON7 octobre 2019
DC managers in Brampton grossly incompetent. More interested in leaving early on Fridays to go drinking then managing the union. Union owns the management, even though they are paid way over market reference. Embarrassingly unproductive group. Massive middle manager turnover should be a very telling sign of the mismanagement at upper levels.

ZERO Work Life Balance
Planner (Employé actuel) –  Mississauga Ontario11 juin 2019
Work comes first here... even if it means working late, from home and on weekends for a low base salary. Make sure you dont expect to get an annual raise after all of those extra hours worked in a high stress environment. And the only people who reap the benefits are management because they get the bonuses... not the planners that are actually saving the company all of the money.

And most of our jobs are being replaced in the US but they are pretty much waiting for us to leave instead of paying out packages.

Extremely bad environment
OPERATIONS COORDINATOR (Ancien employé) –  Canada4 juin 2019
Don't work there. The bosses don't know what they are doing and will abuse hard workers. They are dismissive and disrespectful -rule by fear. There is no point in speaking up about issues.
Points négatifs
Long unpaid hours. Disrespectful environment encouraged.

Terrible management and non-friendly co-workers
WAREHOUSE ASSOCIATE (Employé actuel) –  Brampton, ON15 mai 2019
Management treats you like you're stupid. They all come from the same warehouse but don't know what's going on or how to fix problems. They have all worked together at another warehouse which makes the problem even worse. They do not listen to employee input. There are many bullies when working on the floor which does not make the workplace pleasant. You will not rise in seniority for a very long time making the work repetitive and boring for newer employees. The most enjoyable part of the shift is when you get to go home.
Points positifs
High wage, good benefits
Points négatifs
Poor management, poor supervision, poor work culture

Good luck
Inventory planner (Ancien employé) –  Mississauga, ON26 février 2019
If you want to find a place where your soul goes to die, then come work here.

The people you will work with are great and that’s good because you will be spending A LOT of time with them. No work life balance and if you do leave early, it’s because you’re going home to workor because our just can’t take it anymore. Can’t even go to bbq because I have to check emails. Would never get paid l right ...work way more extra than you get lieu days for. Your team leads comment on every little thing you do, make inappropriate comments, argue with each other in front if you and “perception” word used way to much it makes you sick Managers/team leads works 24/7and expects the same from you (but won’t say it). And senior leadership... they are on another planet.

The benefit plan is so old: no RRSP until 2 years, you start with 3 weeks vacation but don’t get another week until 10 years and no flex plan. Also need to wait 6months for your benefits vacation but other companies give them to you on first day. You need to work evenings and on weekends and you will never get Xmas vacation.

Rapidly Changing and Growing Company
Supply Chain Planner (Ancien employé) –  Mississauga, ON5 janvier 2019
This supply chain team is a mess, lead by new leaders who have little to no supply planning experience and focus on inventory objectives only. You will be thrown into the fire with little training and you will be expected to work weekends on a regular basis but they will not tell you this when they hire you.

There are a lot of opportunities for advancement but they are given to senior leadership's "favourites" instead of those that are actually deserving.

Also, this place is looking to establish a certain culture of young people... they fired all of the "old" people in early 2018... isn't that illegal?
Points positifs
free lunches, great coworkers
Points négatifs
Long Hours, strong politics, no work life balance

give up everything that you know as a normal life to be a slave to the hamburger clown. constantly lied to by mid-management. they don't care about you or your health and safety. 362 in bed with the company.

A Day as a driver at MB
truck driver (Employé actuel) –  Baie-d'urfe, QC25 septembre 2018
Ok, I have written this in-depth review as accurately as possible, over the past few days.

The first thing you have to know when applying to Martin-Brower is that you have to be available 24 hrs / 7 days a week. This is a requirement. Do not take this lightly. Your phone has to be beside you at all time. When you start at Brower, you get on the spare board. This means you will replace ill, injured or vacation guys that have their own bid routes. At this time we have about 61 guys on bid routes (your own routes on a weekly schedule) and 15 spare guys on call. The thing is as a spare, you can stay as a spare a long time. Some weeks you do 24 hours, other week you do 60 hours. It varies.

FLEET: They use regular cab trucks (Freightliner and International) not more than 4 years old. Trailers are all refrigerated with tail gates and includes 3 cameras for better view. Trucks have to be regular cabs to be able to manoeuvre inside the Mcdonald's tight parking lot.
The fleet is well maintained by an on-site mechanic.

WAREHOUSE: The warehouse at Baie D'urfé is pretty small and requires constant refills. So the volume of trucks doing deliveries is virtually non-stop. Warehouse guys picking the stuff to fill pallets and guys filling trailers are hard workers and they work without natural light inside the warehouse. I'd say the worst place to work is the freezers because it is at -25 degrees inside.

MANAGEMENT: They are friendly people, and are doing their best to help us. The union collective agreement is sometimes slowing them down because of restrictions.

WORK SCHEDULE:
plus... Your phone has to be beside you at all times and fully charged, Failure to answer their call for work within an hour will result in disciplinary action. Shift cycles are either morning or afternoon shifts. For morning shift you can be called to work between 1h30 AM to noon. Afternoon shifts from noon to 3 am. Regardless of the schedule, nobody drives all night. (midnight to 6 am) . If you are spare (basically the first 3-4 years) you have to call dispatch before noon everyday, to learn about your next day shift. So you always know mostly 18 hours in advance when you are going to work. Therer is as well the yard shunter shift. Mostly available weekends and night. Sometimes they will call you out of the blue, to work a shift at the last minute.

BID ROUTES: Bid route are mostly given to drivers with at least 2 years on the road. Older guys with 20 years plus, pick the best routes while younger drivers are picking what is left. Bid routes as per collective agreement have to be between 40 and 55 hours per week, The problem is that some routes are 8 hours per day. Some have 40 hours per week. Dispatch cannot force you to work more after 50 hours have been reached. But the problem resides that if you have not done at least 50 hours a week, you can be called at anytime in your days off. And trust me, they call you.

SALARY: I will not post salary online, but I can tell you that after 8 hours of work, you get 1.5x. After 40 hours in the week, any hours cumulated after that are paid at time and a half. I am not going further. The job also includes a collective RRSP( pension) and health benefits after you have reached 800 hours probation period.

LOG BOOK: They use a Samsung S7 cell phone and an e-log software as an app. It is somehow stable and this is what they use for payroll hours.

DISADVANTAGES: When you are a spare driver, you can be called at anytime. They never call between 9 pm to 4h30 am. Dispatch will not bother you. But they sometimes call at 4h30 am, to ask you to come working at 11 am. This happens. Many guys have left because of the dreaded phone calls. You call for work and dispatch tells you there are no work and that you are first or second spare. That means you cannot do much and you have to sit at home waiting for the call. Forget camping trips, forget holiday, forget going away for more than an hour. Forget weekends for a very long time. !!! Stay nearby, stay ready. It gets tough on the family life. Not being able to spend week-ends with them. This venture has caused many break-ups and divorces. Ensure your better half is fully aware and that she is ok with this type of work.

Warehouse guys do 60-70 hours a week. Plenty of work but complaint of not being hired as full time but as part-time. Some have been as part-time for more than 3 years.

This is the truth and and nothing but the truth of what is happening to Baie D'urfé.

Thank you
