Constant new training and job changing.

Pay does not go upAccording to the constant change and added work load. Listens to your calls while on phone with guest. Watches what screen your on while helping guest. If you have a guest chatting a lot and quickly open email or Teams they screenshot it and write youUpFor non servicing. I am was in hospital unable to call manager toLet them know I would be absent . It happened two days inA row and even though in hospital unable to call I was terminated. I even had a medicalDoctor note.

If we have good colleagues it's good and less stressed.

People on management level doesn't care if you have growth in westin edmonton or not. They just want to get their events done and blame juniors if something goes wrong. Especially GM,HR of the hotel. That's westin edmonton.

Good perks, varied hours

This is a union hotel, unless you’re high in seniority it’s hard to secure a consistent schedule especially during off seasons. Great perks with the jobs such as discounts on room rates plus food and beverage.

Horrible upper leadership

Its hard to work here, Im sad because they say its great but its not. Myself and my coworkers are tired, we need tools for the job, the computer system still isnt complete to ring in orders, very stressful, high burnout rate

In the Gift Shop: Stocking shelves, cashing customers out, helping customers pick out souvenirs, doing month inventory, daily cleaning tasks.Starbucks: Cash customers out, serve and make them there drinks and get them there food. Stock and make backups, daily cleaning tasks

Judgemental Management

Sous chefs are judgy and it’s hard to understand what they try to say at times. Not a great work culture, very judgy only seniority is prioritized which overshadows the talented ones in position of no seniority. Had my friend interview for this job and they got rejected whereas other people are offering them a kitchen supervisor role. Interviews are not taken fairly and definitely not by someone who sees potential in candidates.

Nice place to work

Not a bad place to work. Lots of opportunities for advancement. Job was repetitive and sometimes very busy with back to back calls. Great discounts on hotel rooms.

Frustrating but rewarding

Stressful even by the standards of a kitchen job because it never feels like you have all the information you need to do your job properly. However great pay and beautiful kitchen.

I had the best time working. Safe and respectful environment. Also fun activities for everyone and involved everyone. My managers, supervisors everyone were kind and friendly enough supporting and helpful at times.

At this company, good management and coworkers make it a really nice place to work. There are some not-so-great colleagues around, but they're not a big deal since you don't see them all the time. Work can be busy sometimes, but other days it's pretty chill. Overall, it's a cool company to work with.

Great place to work. Managment treats staff with respect. Co workers are helpful and we work as a team. Nothing bad to say at all. Wish I would have started my career here
