I worked at Marks for over 2 years, I noticed that almost all of the customers were middle-aged and above, they think that they know absolutely everything because they've been shopping at Marks for apparently 20 years. The attitude that the customers have is really awful, completing business orders is something exclusive to Marks and it's pretty complicated when you first get started. During the beginning of covid, there were to protocols for the safety for the employees, we couldn't even kick customers out who refused to wear a mask. The management is extremely contradicting and hypocritical, made for an awful work environment. However, there is 40% employee discount, good hours and the coworkers are really what kept me there so long. Make sure you have a tough skin if you want to apply or else the customers and management will eat you alive.
Good coworkers, employee discount, Canadian Tire Christmas boxes
Standing all day, immature and ignorant customers, hypocritical policies
Company is good , management also good and does accommodate and is flexible and they train you well . Only problem is with the employees there . They have been working for long and aren’t afraid of anyone . there and are too rude , groupism , fights and arguments .

This is a very happy job and I enjoy working with many young people. This job is a part time work and I can give the customers a lot of help. I do cashier, fold clothes, collect clothes or accessories in the store by internet order, hepl customer choosing the clothes.
5 hours a shift
The work is very light but the hard part of the Job isn't the constant re-stocking, its the once in a blue moon costumer that does not understand store and corporate policy. for example the usual costumer is a laborer/worker, They take the shoes they just bought and get them filthy full mud and grime without trying them out at home first. We at Marks remind all costumers that they should try their new shoes or work boots at home to see if its comfortable for constant use. but unfortunately we get some costumers with one or all of the following issues (Visually noticeable ware and tare/ dirt and grime/ no receipt/ no proof of purchase) But Thankfully to my managers they resolve all issues using their higher clearance levels in the digital cashier. I don't know what I would of done without them. Thank you if your seeing this.
Discounts (30%) on all Items in shop.
Low pay, seasonal work.
was a really good job when i started, the by the end of my five years, they got bought out , then they started switching managers every month then every body on the team started to leave one by one, then i was left to basically run the floor and back room by myself and that led to a nervous break down
Mark's is a wonderful company to work for; not just because of the AMAZING discounts but because of the AMAZING management and support staff. Their customer focus is 110% service and customer satisfaction. This also translates into how they train and treat ALL employees. I'd call Mark's the most WONDERFUL retail company I have ever worked for & look forward to continuing to working with the company.
Count tills, open store, shift starter, urgent commeunications for Head office. Store changes (Merchandising), Price adjustments all well serving customers and making sure they leave happy. My staff are great people. Hardest part of job is getting it all done with no payroll. I love the staff and the customers. I have a lot of people that come in that have almost become friends.
Close to home and great staff
