Not a good place to be

Their hiring process is a Scam. They don’t hire someone who is deserving and hard working instead someone who has no experience or does not even know how to manage things. People are very obnoxious here don’t waste your time trying to get a job here.

Meh

Coworkers were great and pay was fair but managers treat you terribly. A very the customer is always right mentality with most of them to the point we’re someone threatened to harm me and other staff and we were asked what we could have done better.

No lateral movement or advancement.

I was living and working in an area I would not have otherwise chosen to live in or work in. I dealt with a lot of challenging issues and tenants. I was basically there for the money. I have been wanting to relocate and have applied for the same position or promotions in another area. Even though there were openings, I was not given the opportunity to relocate.

Employees play around , hide and seek , frequent smoke and cofee break

It’s good company to work, I see staff having a lot of time to smoke frequent coffee break, wasting their time, reporting their time to accomplish work unfairly . 30 minutes becomes 2 hours Their Yardi system doesn’t benefit the company. Un necessary purchase of materials not monitored properly, no inventory, company is not saving money.Not sure if the owner is aware to all of this. The owner is good employer kindhearted and knows how to appreciate hardwork, rewarding deserving employees, he should do frequent reviews and eradicate hide and seek staff that just wait for 15/30 $

Was an RM here. There is potential to make decent money through bonuses. As long as your numbers are fine people leave you alone. Good experience overall.

No long term security like retirement, low pay

No long term security like retirement, low base pay not worth it for the long term.No proper planning and lots of politics involved. Sales team fight amongst themselves over leads. Really stressful environment.

Nice place to start for the beginners in residential maintenance

many issues management to solve but not important for them such as On-Call frequency and only pay for on call when you take it but no compensation on waiting for the calls. wasting more time on looking for the material, writing work orders and requesting for PO. No training to the call center team in Calgary as they could solve many on call issues just on phone. These are the only few examples of the long list.

There is a lot of work for very little pay. The management team does not care about staff only money in their pocket.

The only good thing about this company is the other employees and the parties they had. Upper Management really does not care for anyone there. You are only a number to them. The minute you have personal issues or may not be able to work as hard as they want they will tell you that you don’t fit in there. I would never recommend this company to anyone

Resident Manager/Leasing Agent

Company has high expectations when the staff is already stretched thin as it is. They love to hire you and then Fire you for no ethical reason, in some cases they will promote you to another position even when you don't want to do that position refusing adds to the reason to fire the staff, not to mention they sometimes don't have a reason as "you are no longer a fit to this company".....even though you may have already worked there for years Revolving staff and everyone is left to find out what you need in your toolbox to be successful....no leadership when you have no tools, just throw you out there and you need to figure it out yourself, AND then just when you do figure it out, They will let you go!I wouldn't recommend working for MEQ, simply because you are left to figure it out for yourself.

Great place to work, very fun environment with upbeat people. Teamwork is important to success, but anyone who can perform well at their job will love the compensation, the respectful treatment by management, and their work. Mainstreet is one of the most fun and creative places I have ever worked, not like anywhere else.

Cliquey to the max!

If you not in the right management clique your job becomes extremely hard. Manager was accused of inappropriate conduct multiple times and was never given consequences. Administration was always pushed around by management. Unrealistic work expectations.

Overall a Great Place to Work

Like any work place there are always ups and downs and stressful days. This company will provide you with an environment to learn and grow if you are willing to put in the effort. Senior Management is always available, very approachable and easy to talk to. The compensation is definitely fair market and unlike a lot of companies they do give salary increases. A company worth checking out!

Given the time to complete my work, but management has no clue how to manage tradesmen.

Some jobs take more time than expected, but im usually given the time to make proper and complete repairs. Management does not know how to properly manage the maintenance department let alone tradesmen.

Enjoyable to work

I have work with a lots of companies but mainstreet gives me a self confidence and TRUST which i did not see in my previous employers. Well of course they will track you if you are too lazy.doing only 2 work orders for 8 hours? Nahh. Bedbugs ? Tell me what company doesnt have a bedbUGS in the building? Its the tenant's fault bringing garbage to their unit. nahh this quitters 2 much excuses

Management does not care about employees, they only care about money. Culture is toxic, managers have favorites and if they don't like you, you will never be promoted. Pay is bad and nothing you do is appreciated. You will become depressed if you stay, that is why they have a very high turnover, as people don't stick around. They don't train employees and you still get blamed for making mistakes with tasks you are not trained for. STAY AWAY!!

Poor treatment of staff overall

High expectation but little support from upper management. A lot of backstabbing by peers. This may have improved since Dec 2018 at which time I was let go due to Calgary restructuring in an attempt to promote certain individuals. In my opinion, the management is prejudice and hires immigrants that are on work visa's so they can threaten them that their work visa will get revoked if they do not do as ordered. Most of the staff were very nice people to work with.

Unsafe place to work

This company only cares about profit. They don't care if you work with needles and in dangerous buildings. Management is manipulative . Next track you to work overtime and not pay correctly.
