The job itself isn’t too bad if you’re familiar with food service. They make you do online training at home on your own time and don’t compensate you for it (took about 3-4 hours to complete) which I didn’t love. Overall if you cook at home, or just have a general sense of how to get around a kitchen, you’ll be fine on the job.

Nice

Enjoyed it good work and good pay they also have a flexible schedule which is good if you’re in school. Sometimes it can be stressful since it’s very demanding

Hit or miss management with little hours given

Interview was surprisingly easy. I did a lot of research on the company and practice some interview questions but it was not even necessary to get the job. Like any other fast food restaurants, you are expected to work fast and getting paid minimum wage. Some managers are nice but some are just nitpicking and irresponsible. I have many closing shifts with this manager who does absolutely nothing except starting at her cell phone then blame me for not being able to get off work early because I "work too slow" when in reality its because she was making me do all the work that she was supposed to do. But, some managers do give out free food even if you do not work more than 5 hours.

Nice coworkers but horrible management

The management is so bad. I only worked there for 3 months and the manager changed 3 times cause they either quit or got fired. When I was hired they promised to give me around 25h per week but ended up only scheduling me for 5h a week. Coworkers are nice and theres often free food.

Great staff but terrible management

High management is awful and doesn’t care about the people. Staff is stressed about losing their jobs or losing hours. Not enough people scheduled during busy hours but too many people scheduled during slow hours. GMs are quitting left and right, teenagers are asked to do 40 hours and shift managers do the work of AGMs because of the lack of one.

Great experience so far

I've been working for Mad Radish for only 4 months, but it has been very enjoyable experience so far. I was trained downtown as I was waiting for my store to open. It was pretty quiet due to COVID, but once we open my store it was busy. Customers love our food and it makes me feel good. My collogues are fun and everyone helps each other. I'm definitely going to recommend this place to everyone.

Food is amazing

I love this fresh, healthy food. It's corporate own so the training and support is better than some other places I worked before. I got a small pay increase after a few months which is great as my previous work place did reviews only once per year.

Good place to work and eat

I had a good time here. My store was quiet because of COVID, but we still had enough to do so the time was passing fairly fast. Lunch was free, but there were also a lot of situations where they let you eat pizza with the rest of the team :)

Love the team and the food

This place is great. My team was fun and we had a good time together.Some days are very busy, but it doesn't last long, maybe an hour or two. Otherwise is very manageable.

They are intimidating

The problems with Mad Radish started early on. My training consisted of online modules that were excessive and tedious. I spent a good 3 hours for the company before getting paid. Aside from the online portion my training was non existent. Team members were supportive but due to the fast pace and stress I felt overemlmed right away. The problem is with the management I think. They are intimidating. They would call you on your days off and don't seem to care if you have a life outside work (which is stressful). After not getting trained, upper management was harsh with my job performance only a few weeks in. I didn't feel comfortable with the work environment. I started off keen and ready to learn expecting to enjoy working for a start up and quickly realized it was all about what was convenient for management.

Great place to work

Good place to work with free food and flexible hours. I worked in other places around the city and I like the food here. The pay is the same as everywhere else, but you can try to get promoted to a higher position with better pay.

Supportive environment

I've been here for a couple of months only, but I feel at home now. My team is great, my manager cares and helps us out on the line. One of the owners is always around and very approachable. One time he brought pizza for everyone and the other day gave me a gift card to recognize my hard work. That was so nice.

Fun staff but issues with management

Fun team of employees but management was not good. Very corporate and did not stay true to their word regarding benefits. Also very slow and long shifts.

Highly dysfunctional company, poor management.

Management is unreliable and downright abusive to their employees. Your hours can fluctuate from 5 to 30 a week depending on what is convenient for the manager, not the staff. This is an issue as MOST days they are understaffed. Because of this, the work environment is stressful and negative to say the least. This company also paints itself as sustainable, eco-friendly which it is NOT by any means. Sure, you get free lunches, but at the cost of your mental health. I would not recommend working here.

Nice people working there

The management team is still trying to figure out a way to balance things out and it is still very new. The company's roots are not stable, things change a lot of times but people are nice there.

Management suck

Management make lots of promises about hours, promotion, and growth to use staff. Fellow staff members are great but everyone is miserable about the job. Always feels a little understaffed and staff are always scrambling to get work done. Manager is lazy and lacks knowledge about food service.

So this place sucked.

They paint themselves out to be this amazing company that takes care of their employees. Here's the thing though, they really don't care about you. The hours are awful, at the end of my short time there I'd get two-hour shifts, and then stopped getting any at all. Manager yelled at us over little things. The people I got to work with were awesome though.

Don't work here

Any good reviews here are probably fake/asked to be written by management. Store managers and higher ups do not care about staff at all. Use many people. Underpay. Not enough breaks. Staff are nice but no one enjoys the job.

Extremely disorganized management

Management ended up overhiring people and thus some employees would never see shifts. Also, you can't claim extra shifts through the Restaurant365 app because they don't check it. Your boss will not respond to your questions. They do not listen. They train you very poorly and sometimes you won't even get trained on how to do certain responsibilities in the first place. Favouritism is how you get promoted here. Management is overall disorganized, and my boss has the spelling of a 3rd grader. They may forget to give you your employee number too.
