I found out while working at M&M Food Market, that enthusiasm and great people skills are necessary for the job. Showing up to the interview interested and approachable is key and shows that you have natural customer service attributes. You will be required to know basic customer service scenarios and how to handle them. You will be expected to learn fast, and have good memorization skills because when first starting, remembering all the products was probably the hardest experience I had personally. Talking about romancing the food, and how to increase average basket size are defiantly good things to familiarize yourself before going into the interview because if hired these details will be stressed on a daily basis. Overall, make sure you come to the interview relaxed and calm, and honesty is always the best policy and is definitely the case here at M&M. Good Luck! :)
Show up with a resume and an appetitive for food
-Be able to romanticize food (AKA use description words) and create meal pairings
-Talk about your previous customer service and cash handling experience
-Learn about the company's products on their website and have a favourite to discuss
-Be able to discuss personal strengths/weaknesses
-Be prepared to give an example of a time you had a difficult customer or conflict with a coworker and how you dealt with it
Read about products! Make sure you’re good at making meal suggestions like, if someone gets a lasagna, as “would you like to add garlic bread”
Try to sell yourself, meaning connect with the customers and try to find the perfect meal for their situation. Listen to others:)
Be yourself,be calm. Ask lots of questions!
