the only big cons were the management and most of the people that work there the number of times I heard people complain about their job while working was not flattering and the hours of which you work is all over the place

Most days the stores are understaffed. Ambition and drive are not valued, and there's no incentive to work hard. People work there for years before they get a part-time or full-time position with guaranteed hours, and benefits. Schedules change from week to week; some weeks are 39 hours, others are 14.

The job was fine, we were so understaffed that sometimes it took a half hour to get somebody to spot me on the forklift so I could actually get a new lift of wood down. Tried to get trained on the other equipment for ages but since only 2 people do the training they never had the time. Asked to not close 4 nights a week but they never changed my schedule so I was stuck with terrible hours which is why I left. They also don't give references when you leave so kind of useless in future job searches.

The customers were very friendly as well as the environment was very friendly and welcoming. In a typical day I assisted nearly 100 customer, except Tuesdays because that was the slowest day of the week. Constantly trained by sales specialists regarding sale products.

This a good place to work especially if you are just starting out in your career. You gain valuable skills such as customer service and sales. Management isn't the best but I would recommend.

they want to work you fairly hard for the pay and hours but overall not terrible as long as you can deal with the overly stressed management running around barking orders. still a growing company, so there's that added stress that trickles towards the employees in a way or another, such as almost all the managerial staff being fired and being switched to out of work friends of managers that are willing to work for less in some situations.

made a lot of great friends there though

It was a very stressful environment every manager would choice favourites, and they don’t tell you when they are changing your shifts then they write you up because of it. The only thing I really liked being at Lowe’s was some people were really nice. Besides that I would have quite the job a few months ago.

I loved it there. The workers were kind and caring, went out of their way to assure you had a great work experience. Would highly recommend anyone worked there

Difficult place to have worked and would not recommend it to family or friends. This American company came and went like others before it. Out of the gate in a big display of bravo and quit on a city and its people before giving them a deserved chance to succeed.No further comment.

If you think they are supporting you they are not! Its all about what the store makes!! You have to be 100% available and live for the job. If this company would realize how much money they spend in training staff. Once trained employees are an asset! Managers treated staff horribly always reminding you that you are replaceable.. and 0 support when you hold key positions.

Management was brought in from other stores, all 3 to 5 years experience, doesn't take long to move up if you want to stick around, I was part time and got a whole bunch of 7 to 11pm shifts, about 20 hours a week they promise you, and don't really care how you live of that, cut hours frequently, short staffed, bad reviews and they think cutting peoples hours will boost moral and performance :) But the real reason I write this today is because they filed one t4 on time in february, and another one 3 months later after tax season closed,This is illegal as an employer,, They must be in by the end of february, so I got reasessed and charged $600 for not providing the correct number on my taxes, pretty hard to count for that accountant i guess, or maybe with the paying minimum wages that's what you get for an accountant, If you do work here, keep your pay stubs, count them all up and make sure your employer can count too,, might cost you alot of money 2 years down the road, Thanks lowes, Worst company I ever worked for.

Had a great time working here, everyone was really in a team mind set, the management was great and with the cross training they provide you have tons of opportunities to learn.

While working in the seasonal department, watering the many annuals and perennials, I worked independently, and alone from 5:00am-7:00am (Until the department and store opened to the public). This time was especially peaceful.

Management were a pleasure to work with.

It was unfortunite that all they could offer me was "Peek" hours), not full time or even part-time.

Management is terrible. They break open door policies and then punish you. I worked here for 3 years and I make 14 cents above minimum wage. You work can work your butt off but still get treated like you're useless . And God forbid you call in sick.

working on the sales floor can keep you busy. Always people walking through the door looking for some help, whether it be some advice for something they're building or just what to buy for a project.

Worked in a new store for 20 months. Enjoyed the work and customers. However one hand did not know what the other was doing. Communication was very poor. Too many chiefs, not enough Indians . Even when I resigned, I came in for my last day of work and they had taken me off the system without notifying me. I have never experienced being treated so poorly. Stay away.

They expect you to give your whole life to the work place. If everything isn't 100% perfect you get written up for it, or just walked out. It forces all the employees to only focus on the negative, makes for a very difficult work environment

a day started watering and looking after all flowers plants and shurbs. helped customers find what they needed. I learned how to care for all plants. I learned to be a cashier worked inside seasonal and hardware and return desk. the management was not the greatest. worked with many different people. hardest part of my job was the heat. my favorite part of my job was being outside every day and looking after the plants and watching customers smile cuz they were happy with your advice and help

Management is joke they don’t listen or care what you have to say, and the responsibility/expectations are overkill.
You won’t get paid enough for the amount of work they demand or the stress that’s about to come.

For a place that is “customer service” it’s extremely understaffed with basically 1 person in a department at a time.

Coworkers might be the only saving grace, Depending if you get hired as full time you can have the hours anything else and your s.o.l.
Points négatifs
Stressful work place, poor communication, poor management, little to no training, no real HR help, they will schedule you without telling you, get mad when you don’t take your lunch but can’t as no one can cover you, ect.
