This is a great job for students flexible hours and switching shifts with colleagues Winters are tough but the summer makes up for itSometimes not enough hours depending if they hire a new batch

I won't even shop there anymore, it's that bad

What is the best part of working at the company?Store and departments managed by mean girls and bullies. Union stewards love the title but are IRL friends with management so issues aren't handled properly, and that's the way it works best for the manager's clique. That is the best part. Benefits are terrible, bottom tier investment in their employees. What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Stressful, management are bullies. It's well known and never going to change. What is the work environment and culture like at the company?If you're tight with store managers the culture is great. Management is out of touch with their employees, and is concerned about impressing their bosses at head office. Managers regularly gossip about employees with other employees, provide passive aggressive commentary about employees, and won't hear both sides of issues (managers and union stewards guilty of above). Mean Girls. What is a typical day like for you at the company?Typical day- it's great, I work for another company that values their employees.

Don't do it!!Front end manager bashes cashiers in front of customers. Has made threats against coworkers yet this company allows it. Hortible place to work

Terrible

They treat you poorly and are not loyal to you. They force you to listen to them boast about profits then cut hours to your department. Always understaffed

Decent place to work. Not the best management, but relatively nice and respectful environment. Some opportunities to move up or be trained in multiple departments.

Worked on carts

Worked hard on carts always was on time Worked in really bad conditions snow and rain Loved the job but it wasnt enough money to live on when covid hit I lost my job because I couldn't wear a mask so it's been pretty hard but trying to manage I was also promised a gift card for coming back but they never called me back it really sucked I was a good worker and never had a problem

Decent workplace

Was a good run. Enjoyed the company of the coworkers as they did lighten up the mood of wanting to go to work, however hours can be exhausting but overall ok

Good first job

Decent first job. Unionized. Benefits for part time staff. Low pay and hours were minimal if you are new. Not always flexible depending on manager. Not great but better than some other retail experiences I had.

Terrible place to work.

Terrble company. They don't care about their employees, their only concern is profits. Our hours were cut in January. I used to work 32 hours a week, now I work 18 hours.

Not a great start salary or wage company for new or part time employees. Can be uncomfortable situation between departments. Mostly accommodating

good place for PART time work if your flexable

great place to work if your manager supervisor is good, it is an easy jobunless you in management it's hard to get 40 hours unless it's the christmas rush

Stressful

My experience was good as an assistant manager and respected associate, Loblaws was good to me overall. Clean environment, great health and safety, food safety better than health unit.

Good , with the right coworkers

Having the right co workers make a big difference. Customers can be rude sometimes. Company is fair for the most part. Would be nice to get more hours , but if you’re willing to work weekends and evenings it’s more.

Best company to work

I started my job with Loblaw’s when I came to canada! And changed provinces but still worked with same company at diff location I love Loblaw I respect ! I am in Quebec right now and also want to join Loblaw’s here but because of language restriction as they ask for French I can’t do it ! If they allow Not bilingual here I would love to join again

It is a fun place to work and co-workers are also easy to get along with. Customers oriented job and have to deal with all kind of people on regular basis.

Fun entry level side job

Good for students and those who need a side position and are looking for additional income. Experience highly dependant on management, so try to get in store manager and asms good books in order to excel

Don't waste your time

The pay is minimum wage, and you have to pay Union dues on top of it. So expect to make less then Minimum wage. The hours are what ever they decide. They wont hire Full time, so on a good week 27 hours. Its not enough to pay your bills. No chance at advancement people have been there 14 years and cant get full time. Expect to work weekends and holidays its retail.

Fun and Productive Workplace depending but sometimes stressful

Overall my experience working there was rather interesting, some days were good and some days were a real pain. It really depended on who you worked with. I got along with most of my co workers so when the right people were working it was fun. Other times it is slow, management was okay. Only issue as customers tended to be entitled and demanded you fix their every problem.

Negative place to work, poor management

It started off as a good place to work positive atmosphere and good management, has since (in two years) gone downhill management is toxic no support and rude/belittling. They cut hours to an unworkable amount and then try to justify their actions. Overall negative now
