Take pride in your work and Be safe
Snow Removal and grass cutting (Ancien employé) – Ottawa, ON – 20 septembre 2018
A typical work day would start off with me waking at 4 am each day for a 7 days a week. Then leaving at 5 am get in the truck and start at the first site then when that site is finished we move on until they are all done. We would shovel and/or salt what ever the site needed to make sure it was safe. At the end of the day we would go back to the yard and unload the equipment put them away in their proper place.
That was in the winter in the summer I needed to wake up at 5:30 am to get to work by 7 am 5 days a week. I would walk 30 mins then bus 10 mins then walk another 30 mins to the yard. I would then load the truck with my team of 3 other guys and drive to the first site. We had a time limit on each site depending on the size of the site. If the site was small we would have 30 mins but if the site was big then we had one hour. Every time we were done the site we still had 10 minutes to spare to clean up the site.
I learned how to be more efficient, aware of my surroundings, and learn quickly also on site too.
Management was nice and respectful. They were interactive not afraid to help out.
The workplace environment was have fun but be safe and take pride in your work your aren't just represent our company but your self as well.
The hardest part of the job was figuring out a route through the complex's that will not make me back track. So my team and I can the site cleaned up within the time limit.
The most enjoyable part of the job was being out side enjoying the weather sun or snow it doesn't bother me.
Driving around and listening to music in the truck
