I currently work here, the environment is friendly and inviting all the time. Love the people I work with. It can be stressful at times for sure, but everyone is very helpful

I would never work at Leon's, although there are some great staff members there. If I had known what I know now before I applied, I wouldn't have bothered. It's one of the worst places I've ever worked.

The owner of this location is something else. When you are hired for the Sales position, there is no explaining of how you are paid. They explain its hourly wage plus 3% comission. They forget to tell you about the part if your comissions exceed more than your hourly wage they take your comissions to pay themselves back the hourly wage they gave you. It's hard to make sales with the fact nothing is ever in stock and it takes almost 6 months for a couch to come in. Oh and you decide to quit, they take your comissions to pay themselves for am hourly wage you never clocked in for. I chose to work for free for the last 6 months and only have my pay based on the not so nice 3% comissions

This company is many things and none of those are positive. There is no support system as people are thrown into the job with zero training, the owner has zero ability to run a business the only thing he cares about is the money.

Sales people are VERY POORLY paid they run on a draw system which due to the Kingston team forcing Brockville team to spew lies of when stock will arrive, several orders get cancelled which means you've dug your self into a hole with an hourly wage that you will never escape due to the fact that you can never deliver products.

No products delivered = No commission = Your continually in the hole and indebted to this horrendous company.


On top of that if you are over 2 thousand into the draw you will be terminated as you "aren't capable of selling" Even if you are the worlds best sales person, you can't sell someone empty promises and thin air.


The turn over rate is EXTREMELY high, I am talking over 20 managers in the past few years and COUNTLESS other employee's.


If you are a manager or behind the desk there is no support, no direction and you are punished if you make a mistake for things you were demanded to do without ever being shown how, to make it better you also do not get your lunch breaks. If you are sick or miss a day nothing will be done as no management is trained to take payments or problem solve, they are simple placed there as useless pawns for the upper management to **** on.


The pay of ANY position in this store will never be enough to make up for all of the lies you have to tell people and the amount of displeased

they always tried to accommodate us for time off or family issues, good training, floor manager is nice and knowledgable, busy days are fast paced and the slow days are painful. Things have changed since Covid.

This is a terrible company to work for. They have no compassion towards their employees. So frugal. Terrible benefits.
Management doesnt respect the employees at all. Underpaid. Always thinking of filling their own pockets

Purely a commission-based salary structure for the Sales employees. You definitely make money during the on-season however there are days when you don't make a sale and earn nothing. Few veterans have been able to make a fortune out of this role and been in the company for more than 30 years.

Management at Leon's is a joke. Everyday I would come to work and get harassed, named called and bullied by my boss. My boss also would make racist comments about any truck driver with colored skin that would come in. My father came in one day to wish me a happy birthday and my boss told me as my dad was leaving that he could "beat him up" (nicer way of saying it because this review won't let me cuss) but had never even spoken to the man. I also almost had my leg cut clean off due to a work place accident and when i was on the groud unable to actually pick myself up by boss told me to walk it off and got very angry with me when i said I would like to fill out the proper paperwork hat follows with an injury like such. I had to drive myself home and was driven to the walk in clinic for x-rays. The doctor had provided me a WSIB form and indictated that you be off work for the remainder of the week and the following, and going back on modified duties. I was told from from to return back to work where they expected me to finish work and return the next day. My mom called and spoke to the Manager that I was not to return until the noted date on the forms I supplied to Leon's. They told my mom that I signed a form after the accident that I was fine and able to work. My mom explained that I was still a minor. When I called my mom from work following the accident, I told her I was fine, but I just couldn't walk. Leon's probably would have fired me if my mom didn't call.
I would never recommend anyone taking a job in the warehouse.

This job can be tough sometimes lifting heavy furniture but its part of the job! Sometimes would work in the warehouse and give them a helping hand...

Work any where else but here. The customers are rude and yell at you daily and there’s no support from management. Managers literally tell you not to bother them and if a customer asks for them you have to try and take care of it yourself.
Leon’s hires young people with little job experience so imagine someone like that trying to help a screaming customer that is demanding to speak to a manager and not understanding why the manager just won’t come out and talk to them. I’ve had customers yelling at me and calling me names and when I finally got a manager to come out they bent over backwards for them. They care more about money then their employees. The turn over rate is incredibly high because they hire such young people that can’t handle the stress and commitment the job needs but they can’t hire more experienced people because they only offer minimum wage.

I am proud to work at LEONS and admire the management team as well as the Customer Service/Administration team. Everyone works exceptionally hard to provide excellence in customer care and service
Getting to meet a couple leaders from corporate was a great experience as well. They were very friendly, open and down to earth

Went through 6 store managers in 5 years. Never got a raise once. After 5 years I was rewarded with a pin. Had to buy own uniform. The place is a revolving door

You literally have to buy your own pen in order to do your job. They won’t approve that as part of a supply order management is completely sales focused, no support on the back end. Company said they would pay us 2 weeks as part of a covid 19 response in the press. None of us got a dime. Garbage furniture made in China

It's either great, or horrid, completely depends on your leaders and their capacity to empower their staff. The culture is cut throat, infighting was daily, and encouraged by some of the management, like some macabre reenactment of the wolf of wall street. If you're a sales shark, and have no issue living at the store, you'll do great and make a fairly comfortable income. otherwise....move along.
