Ledcor has an excellent professional HR system and has very strong value in regards to Respect within the workplace. I liked the work I was doing but felt there was not good communication within the department. Felt my immediate supervisor was withdrawn and not approachable. Was looking forward to my annual review so that I could understand my role and meet expectations better.
Free lunches and breakfast quite frequently
No real team building within the department
As excited as I was to work for Ledcor, it was disappointing to learn that there still existed an “old boys club” mentality and a certain amount of secrecy surrounding issues presented by multiple workers in same department. This secrecy was brought into for the “accused” but not for the “victim”, on several occasions. I am hopeful that there has been a period of growth and education within the upper echelon, and also for anyone expected to lead and manage mixed gender teams. I am also hopeful that there were some learnings from the very public (yet same problem) debacle brought upon the company from one of its revered executive leaders, Dwight Brissette.
Mediocre pay at best; archaic attitudes
• Implement and maintain Ledcor systems and procedures as they apply to human health and workplace safety including: tracking health and safety data and maintenance of filing and confidential information and spreadsheets.• Preform general administrative and recordkeeping functions including the review and entry of documentation; preparation of meeting minutes, maintenance of files and databases for necessary reporting as well as creating and maintaining spreadsheets.• Provide assistance and resources to the safety team.• Responsible for data entry into client systems.• Maintain and ordering office supplies as required.• Track employee certifications and personnel files and maintain related files and tracking systems• Arrange and book employees into site required training(provided by Shell or CLAC)• Build relationships with employees as required to provide support for health and safety issues• Other related duties as required.
