At first, I felt out of place, I didn't know anyone and I thought I'm not going to be here long. after a few weeks of working with the crew I became good friends with the guys and girls on the site. I worked a lot with the trades workers and they liked my work ethic and also they enjoyed my company. the weather in Fort Nelson wasn't as bad as people said it was.
away from family
for the most part well organized, good safety culture, not bad benefits and rrsps. hr and office staff were generally always on the ball. would definately go back for a fly i fly out position.

The cabin gas plant was fun. Being exposed to such a big company like ledcor, and their safety and environmental starndards was a positive eye opener
free room and board
no scenery and mountains, and not much for activities in the evenings
Get to work have our regular meeting every morning receive our jobs from our supervisors. example, do pressure testing on manifold 13. We make shore all the lines are ran to the proper places and that they match up in our drawing all connections as tight and do our pressure test. work as a team. hardest part of that job would be finding that one little leak. enjoyable part of job would be everyone worked well as a team and we all helped each other and asked lots of questions.
long hours, cold days and nights

horn river camp was awesome
the bus ride to and from work was aweful
In general working for Ledcor was a good experience in that we worked long days, with appropriate breaks. Majority of co-workers were easy to get along with while supervision all seemed to have a firm grasp of every situation. Day to day tasks were changing frequently, keeping everyone on their toes and interested in those tasks. Fly in / fly out shift work being on a 14/7 rotation was another added bonus allowing for plenty of overtime and a relaxing week off at home.
long hours, safe
