It was a comfortable atmosphere that allowed you to work uninterrupted when completing necessary testing to ensure your elegability to all employment positions offered. Catered to everyone's individual needs when offering placements they were kind and understanding and flexible. They made it a great experience
New experience opportunities, Friendly staff, flexability to individual roles
Have to wake up early and be there at around 5:30 am, everyday to get placements, They explain very little going in, which makes u unsure of your job duties when first arriving, so it makes you feel a bit nervous, and unsure of your abilities to complete the assigned tasks.
We would meet at the Labor Ready Hall around 5AM to go to our assignments ,or be sent out.I was general labor, not skilled. We went to Chemical Plants,Refineries, the big shipping Port to load Cargo Ships. The Management was alright as long as you could do your job.It was hard work 12 Hours in the heat doing hard physical work like lifting 100 lb bags of grain onto a conveyor belt at the Port all day a lot of times with a hangover ,it was a real party culture there. You could either handle it or you couldn't! It felt good to get off and get paid. It paid my rent and bills when I needed it.I was on short contracts ,or would work there when I needed the money.
Always had work
Day by Day, no job security
As worked for labour ready/people ready for some time now I can say they offer their employees very very low pay no benefits and don't promote their good employees. I would never ever work for them again and people thinking to apply to them its a waste of time and should look for a real good job.

It works for now but would like to have something permanent and secure someplace I can progress and grow along with the company. They say that it's a first-come-first-serve basis. But that isn't exactly true. they're supposed to put the most qualified and experienced people with the proper jobs in which they're experienced. That isn't exactly true either. The way it works is those with vehicles go out to the jobs before those that don't have vehicles. so being that they are unqualified but yet have a vehicle they get the job to wear the qualified that don't have the vehicle don't go which may lead to upset customer and employees.
How did you know that I worked for people ready??they play favorites and give them the best jobs.if they think you can't handle a job because you're too old they'll lie and say there's no work. They overcharge for transportation and it's unreliable at best
I worked at labour ready in traverse city MI for a while, I did not have a positive experience working there. I was told that I was supposed to drive 50 miles one way each day to set in the office to see if I could even go out to work, this took hours. The management played favoritism with the workers no matter what there performance was.
Arrive early to be the first in line/best chances at getting a job Great way to meet people and get into the work force Management is great ,friendly and there to get you a job Very wide range of positions Jobs range from every thing from Movers Person to Food Processing Same day pay available
same day pay
day to day work
typica work day is long and early most days sharpening skills or learning new ones few opportunities to move to management of a team but I take them not into the culture of the work place its work.. not mess around, few exceptions the hardest part of the job is learning the newer skills on sites sometimes communication isn't alway great between teams seeing the job done and heading home where ever that maybe per work tour.
coffee in at the temp services
sometimes coffee isn't enough.
you could go in every day for 5:30 am but not be guaranteed work that making it a wasted day could have just as easily be spent looking for a permanent job & most sent to were min wage
no guaranteed work
Your questionnaire is used to understand if your going to fight versus finding the right fit for you. You will also work extremely hand jobs for minimum wage
This is an employment agency hall that you showed up at in the morning for dispatches according to what companies needed extra help for that day. Often you would get a steady run on call backs and sometimes be returned for weeks or months. Some times the company would hire you direct after only a day or so for longer time commitments
Paid daily or weekly
Sometimes there was no work for a week or so
