Not for most

Most of the floor workers are absolutely great !Heavy workload and high stress. Senior management has had some very high turnover ,and top down leadership and communication is very poor .Constant shifting goal posts , lack of materials , production issues . Pay is below industry standard but not terrible, but hey free beer , and decent benefits if you can actually get full time !

Good pay if you’re full time

I’m lucky that I’ve had a long career with Labatts. The pay and benefits are very good. The shift work can be challenging, especially if you have kids.

High Tension

Millwright (Employé actuel) - London - 5 octobre 2022

- There is a high Maintenance Management turnover which is extremely top heavy. - Management's lack of experience from Onboard Training to mechanical knowledge is causing obvious tension between hourly and salary employees.- Maintenance Management is continuously overstepping contractual boundaries which is also adding undue tension in the dept.- Understaffed at this time and although they are searching it is evident they are uncapable of recruiting skilled trades workers.It seems the London brewery is experiencing the same troubles as in past years, so I would highly recommend a "PASS" , at least until the next Mgmnt team arrives.- PROS = unlimited O.T and some free beer.- CONS= sub par wage, contract year.

Low wage, horrible workplace culture

This company does not provide proper training and they expect way too much of you without you even knowing what is going on. They underpay you, over-work you. They don't compensate you for overtime... sometimes you will work 14 days in a row. The only good thing is they give you a company car to use and sometimes you get free beer.

No advancement due to the union presence, not a bad gig if you don’t mind repetitive tasks and working alone for long periods, if you can stick it out for a year or two it would be a great job

Good pay and benefits in exchange for sadness

The pay was really good, benefits and hours too. It was just hard to keep up when you are understaffed and are doing the job of 4 person at a time. My departement was supposed to be staffed with 4 and everyone quit but me. Being alone doing multiple tasks is fine until your manager starts putting pressure on you since there is no one else. Had 3 weeks paid vacation but was not allowed to take any in over a year because we were understaffed..Overall not worth it for the paycheck.

Good Pay, NOT GREAT but GOOD.2 cases of beer per month as a taxable benefit.free beer periodically over long weekends or holidays.Hardest part of job is down time for back ups or repairs. Try to stay awake or busy.London Landmark 175 years old but part of a Brasilian Conglomerate.ABInbev.Thats Big Business anymore!!!

Not as good as it seems

There are no benefits for temporary employees which doesn’t seem so bad until you realize that some employees have been temporary for upwards of ten years. Unfair hiring practices with preferential treatment given to friends and family instead of merit or talent based. They will expect you to plan your whole life around work yet do not give the courtesy of a phone call to inform you that they removed you from the overtime shift after you have already gone home. There is an expectation that employees know things without prior training.

Our employee tiers are structured based on hire date; usually the highest tier is for those who are considered permanent employees hired before a particular date. The next tier is for those hired after a particular date, and the final tier is typically for contracted or temporary positions. L''entrepôt est le pire des emplois chez Labatt

Marchandiseur & Commis d'entrepôt (Ancien employé) - Trois-Rivières, QC - 16 mai 2022

Mauvaise communication entre les ventes et l'entrepôt résultant en des journées surchargée pouvant aller jusqu'à 3-6 heures d'overtime dans les pires situation.Travail hautement physique lever des caisses durant toute la soirée/nuit.J'ai vécu le travail avant l'arrivée des casques et après, les casques disent un numéro l'employé doit alors se rendre à l'emplacement et confirmer l'emplacement avec un code puis confirmer le nombre de caisses prisent et ainsi de suite jusqu'à la fin de la commande et puis recommencer, cela rend la tâche très longue pénible et légèrement aliénant.

Don't take a job there

Last place I'd recommend to anyone, a very disrespectful work place , a very high turn over rate and little pay , you start as a temporary employee and only if you make full-time you don't get benefits or nothing even though it is a unionized environment and your paying dues , union only helps full time employees, Temps don't get representation as such , seniority does not mean diddly squat . In all not a good place or environment to work, although you do get a free case of beer a week.

OK place to work

If you are part of the union you got it made, great pay, great benefits, as much OT as you want there are some stressful jobs but overall the compensation is adequate. In fact top hourly staff can earn 2-3 times what low level managers make. In fact top hourly staff make more than the plant managers do.Now if you are in management or looking to get into management run for the hills. Everyone is constantly ranked against one another for promotions and every year you get a letter grade depending on your performance… or how well you can make buddies with upper management.

Nos niveaux d'employés sont structurés en fonction de la date d'embauche ; généralement, le niveau le plus élevé concerne ceux qui sont considérés comme des employés permanents embauchés avant une date donnée. Le niveau suivant concerne les personnes embauchées après une date donnée, et le dernier niveau concerne généralement les postes contractuels ou temporaires.

False promises and poor management

I had heard good things about Labatt until I started working there. The management are all kids right out of university that's do not have very much, if any, work experience. Instead of giving these opportunities to the hard working employees for advancement they hire a young person from Ontario or where ever else to be a manager. So much lack of communication between management. Like chickens with there heads cut off lol. They start u at a low wage as a temporary and gimmick u into thinking that u could move up to permanent and another fee bucks and hour after a year or so. This is a lie. After working there and talking to alot of employees I found out most were temporary even guys that were there years and years. Seems they would rather keep temps and save money. My first week on the job they had a guy that was there for 3 weeks training myself and another new hire on lol. Labatts has high turnover rates for a reason. Horrible. Not the good old Labatts from years ago. Some great people there though. Mabey okay for a teenager starting out.

Management is a joke. They pay you 15$ an hour without ANY benefits. You get a "free" 12 pack a week that you are actually charged for. The won't hire anyone fulltime until some one retires. But even then, the management will take any chance they can put you on a "last chance agreement" to delay you getting hired full time. The mandate/force temp workers to work overtime also. You are supremely overworked and under paid.
