J'aime la culture de cette entreprise et j'aurais bien aimé avoir l'opportunité d'obtenir un emploi permanent pendant la durée de mon contrat. L'avantage d'avoir été à contrat cela m'a permis de toucher à plus d'un mandat et de me faire connaitre de mon entourage.

Good place to work

Good leadership with clear vision. Enjoy working with my colleagues. Work hard but the work life balance is good especially 9/80 and improving holidays granted to employees.

Decent place to work. Not back breaking, not boring.

What is the best part of working at the company?The support from local managers. They will go out of their way for you if you put effort into yourself and your performance.What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Can’t think of any real stressors. It’s a pretty good company in actuality.What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Mostly ex-military, we’ve all worked together for a lot of years all came from the same old school time frame. Do your work, shoot the breeze while you’re at it. What is a typical day like for you at the company?Busy, I am singular in my trade on my crew, busy.

Lots of room for growth, great people.

Compensation is low for lower level jobs, some being slightly more than minimum wage meanwhile you're working on world class equipment and products. Lots of great people to learn from and lots of room for growth. New building is nice but getting full two years in. Good benefits, 4X10 schedule is life changing, hopefully it stays that way.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Good culture. Try to promote collaboration. Building is brand new and modern. What is a typical day like for you at the company?Same as everywhere else. Busy but manageable for the most part.

Favoritisim, no union, unorganized / immature people at all levels.

Terrible just don't bother, people are immature it feels like they never got past the mindset of high school, even the grey haired people in management and leads are a joke and no organization they play favorites and because this is a non union job and they straight up tell you not to discuss your wages you will most likely get screwed over for pay nepotism is huge here and people undeserving usually get treated the best / promoted.

low wage, lack of management. Young people stay in maximum 1year and they wan to leave. Especially, in optic shop positions are very high pressure work environment.

If you like repetitive work then some jobs are for you, but if you have analytical and thinking brain then better ask employer about those things before joining.

Great co-workers

Overall a good experience for me. Good co-workers helpful and willing to work as a team. Salary good as well. Departments well structured. As in all places a few persons difficult to work with.

Excellent place to work with smart engineers and project managers. There is a lot of involvement of all the different business units to get things done.

Nice people but software development worst practises

The I/T environment and lack of I/T support at this company is so disfunctional it actually prevents you from being able to do your job on a daily basis. From the point of view of software development tools, technology and processes, this company is stuck in the stone ages.

Exciting projects hampered by terrible corporate management

There is no shortage of exciting projects going on here. You truly do get to push the envelope and get exposure to some great engineering.That being said ever since the merger corporate has been squeezing the life out of this place.Managers appear powerless to improve compensation, culture or perks. Meanwhile project deadlines are beyond unreasonable and employee engagement is abysmal. Unfortunately this has led to the most capable individuals being driven out and the passion being stifled.There are still reasons to be hopeful that improvements might be coming but this certainly isn't the place it was a couple years back.

Average Fortune 500 Company

Exactly what you'd expect of a company following the corporate America template. Pay is ok, benefits are ok, work life balance is ok if you're willing to push back. Not really any strategy from management other than revenue must grow x% per year. Coworkers are nice. Depending on your role & department, it's easy to move up in the company.

Good place to really think about what you wanted to do with your life

I got a job here after I felt burnt out from a much more challenging job. Signed up as a coating tech because my buddy said it's a very cushy job (×3 easier than being a fast food worker). You can pretty much coast after 2 years. Supervisors are very nice; I've never got yelled at or treated poorly for making mistakes. It's good for when you have issues outside of work that needs to be addressed. Although, not all types of technician roles are easy.However, it's not a place you want to stay forever due to very limited career advancement, and compensation of newer workers doesn't match that of older ones (10-20 years ago) due to business restructuring. My suggestion would be to get a weekend shift position, and use the 4 days off per week to get more schooling or work on your side business.Do not work here if you think you would feel guilty about working in the defense industry.You can wear casual clothing and put on that thousand-yard stare if you're a technician, and no one will bother you.

Good Company with Exceptional Work-Life Balance and Less than Average Pay

I spent close to 3 years at Don Mills location. It is great place to work if you are satisfied with the initial compensation offer and do not need to move that up higher while you are there. The work was slow paced but there is always opportunity to learn and problems to work on. However, this does not guarantee that you will move up in the company. Only reason why I left the company was due to poor pay and lack of communication by management with regards to career growth within the company.

Interesting, challenging work.

I was employed for a six-month project. The company training was constant and easily accessed. During the at-home phase of the project the virtual machine environment was excellently managed. The on-site, liaison phase of the project was fast-moving and dynamic. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience with the company and its people.

Slow-paced at the Don-Mills without much going on.

Lots of older employees with occasional events however the Don Mills side seems much more fixed and inclusive. The environment can be stiff at times which makes it difficult to deal with.

Personal life taken care although more pay would be better

Overall okay if you know what’s your role within the company . It’s a big name in the industry may be looks good on your resume. 9/80 work schedule I think is a good idea

Slow paced relaxed environment with lower average salary.

There is no opportunity to grow at their Don Mills location. Management is old school, they don't like change. If you propose changes, you're likely to stay in a bubble. Salary is very low as compared to other locations of the same company such as Hamilton. The Don Mills location is treated as a step child of the company.
