Working with this company is okay. I love working with kids and would actually enjoy working with this company if they paid their employees what they're worth. Minimum wage to take care of little humans for 8 hours a day??? I don't think so!
Thank you for taking the time to write this review. We are pleased to hear you love to be with the kids at the centre. We hope you are enjoying the many programs we have in place for the children. We strive to make sure every employee has a livable wage. We would love to hear more from you! Please feel free to reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you adore the joys that children bring with their creativity and ways of communicating, this may be the right job for you, but that's only if you're handling 1-3 kids at a time. Otherwise, expect to be overwhelmed and disgusted at all hours of the day.
First, you have to deal with parents and their varying parenting styles or the extreme monitoring of their precious treasures. Second, expect to feel overwhelmed by the number of children you must to take care of and laugh at the lack of staff available as the company's turnover rate is ridiculously high. Third of all, despite how much parents pay for their children to be in this day care and all the tasks and responsibilities you MUST handle, you're only paid minimum to $1.25 extra for being an educator. Imagine snatching a degree to only be paid a dollar over minimum wage...
There is no proper training but there are TONS of papers to read and sign. After all that, despite being one to take initiative and go over-and-beyond to exceed expectation, you'll be spoken down to and given improper instruction by supervisors and management. At least children are bearable right? Well, for those who aren't, expect parents that can be irritably terrible gossips and complainers. At least you'll have weekends off!
I worked with the company for about 4 months until I decided that enough was enough and I resigned. The supply staff that they hire either have no background in early childhood studies or are disabled. Disabled people can work but they cannot work in a childcare centre. Management is terrible, the way the staff are treated is absolutely horrible. The turnover rate is so high for this company. I have seen at least 20 people come and go in the 4 months that I worked. The pay is absolutely terrible. Head office always say that kids and company is a high quality childcare but the pay is far too low. Basically slavery work. I would never recommend anyone to work for this awful company.
No pros for this terrible company
Pay too low, supply staff don’t know anything about childcare, management is always rude and always putting their staff down.
I worked as a supply director was great but when she left it all went downhill and when I tried calling the human resource they don't know nothing what they are doing now 320 front st has a horrible director and not even if this was the last job in the world would I ever o back they pressure staff and if you call in sick they are like wolves after you and wanting more information. its sad that a company like this don't appreciate yet explode good workers while the other staff is sitting on their butt doing nothing seems like discrimination and favoritism are hand by hand in this company
every day is different, lots of and some times we have stressful situations.
how to multitask and some times how to do things to help your job when your by your-self during the reatio change during the morning and evening
very good staff and supervisors
we have a diversity of culture working at this center
when you have to work alone when there is not enough staff
the children and the wonderful parents
pay is very low
Would not recommend. Horrible staff. Everyone is angry and against each other. They do not provide the programs to children that they claim to. Everyone is in a rush and the children are not taken care of properly. They do not take the time to feed children or put them to sleep. Horrible place to work at. Horrible place to bring your children. Was making less then minimum wage as a relief worker ($11 per hour in 2016-2017) and my pay did not change when I got a full time contract position. My contract ended months early because a location closed, so even that is not guaranteed. And I’ve witnessed serveral staff lose there jobs because of this before it happened to me. Apply at own risk? I
Kids and Company is the largest chain of day care and really very good and up to date. its good for teachers and good for children also.
I had good experience to work with CEO of this company she was very nice and all directors were very nice too.
I've been working at Kids and Company for several years and have seen many changes. Communication is KEY when working with children. Try to stay positive and focused. Your day will go by quickly that way!
Somewhat good benefits
Salary, ratio (not enough help), paper work, short lunches and lack of toys/materials
sites are beautiful, operation depends on management style of the site, the HR department is terrible, menu of food is great, union sites pay and benefits are good, but survivors are over worked high demands.
