Great Job for people starting out in the work force or on working visas. Very structured and supportive. Unfortunately, not as much time off, vacation and sick leave, compared to other jobs and longer wait for benefits.
Thank you for your review! We always appreciate hearing from current employees on their experiences at the centres. We are glad that you are engaging in and enjoying the programs being offered to the children. We also aim to have a fun and interactive curriculum for children and our team enjoy!

Kids and Company dont trust their own employees. They abuse their power and take advantage of the cameras by spying on us (without a reason, even though this is a blatant violation of privacy - we consent to being watched by our directors and the parents only). The spying is unbelievable and verges on harassment.
The company never has anything positive to say to their employees and never show appreciation. Why bother going the extra mile when you dont feel valued?
Kids and Company expectations clash with those of accreditation, so by default you are always doing something wrong. It's a very self defeating environment to work in.
The only good thing about this place is the kids and families and if you can find yourself a good director. However, it's not worth the stress of being stalked on cameras, high expectations, low support, and all for minimum wage.
I had had a good directors, highly educated and very hardworking one.
Very low pay but there are lots of work and demands. Head office makes everyone work too hard and so employees leave as they are burnt out.
The director i worked with is nice.I've learned a lot in the childcare field. Now that im running my own approved and accredited dayhome, i am confident with my emergent curriculum planning because of my training experienced from kids and company euclaire.
The older staff are not so helpful enough to the bew staff. They are afraid that younger staff is a treat to their job. They need to learn to adopt the canadian cilture not their own culture especially on disciplining evey child. Working in the company wasnt that bad it’s just the people you worked with!
I've worked in this place for almost two years and all I can say is it was awful. Yes the families are very grateful for the staffs handwork but the environment is horrible. Too much documentation needed everyday. You don't get time to do it so you have no other choice but to do it on your break. The office is expecting high quality arts and crafts for the parents to see but they won't provide supplies. I don't know how many times I bought supplies out of my own pocket and was told to give them the receipts for reimbursements but guess what? They "forgot" to pay me. You get lieu time but can never use it since they won't allow you. And our director informed us that lieu time (banked hours) expire after 3 months. Fantastic....NOT! The location is always short-staffed. The director tells the staff to call the office if we need bathroom break, but when we do call, they get annoyed. So you work in a place that has too much work and no support, you get paid less than you're worth and you get kidney disease for not being able to go the bathroom. When you get praises from the families, the office gets rewarded but won't communicate that to the staff. However, when a parent complains, the director will throw her staff under the bus. Horrible management and very toxic.
Very bad company .I will never recomend any one to work with this company. I had horrible experiences with kids and company. In Calgary seventy percent staff in from Philippines. Thay only hire their own people .If you try to talk to hr department they never help you. They are very bad with kid behind camera. Thay prepare fake daily reports just to satisfy parents.
as a kitchen staff I've learn a lot especially how to prepare a healthy food for the kids, sanitized the utensils, inventory and organized the food products, milk and fruits, it should be focus on the date expired.
how to handle and make the kitchen clean all the time.
Working for Kids and Company gave me the chance to learn about how physical activity and the arts play a huge part in a child's development and how they learn how to express themselves on a daily basis.
As it was my first start with kids and company, i really like to work at my location where i appointed, there are lot of things i learnt form my day first, my director was so helpful and humble. if i get another opportunity to work with kids and company i will defiantly going to join.

Excellent management at Royaloak location for once in three years. Very honest director
Not a double face like previous ones.
It makes a big difference when your boss is honest.
ThankGod for giving us new management.
I did enjoy working with Kids and Company and had a good time in spending time with all of the children. I enjoyed going to the workshops and learned more about the care giver I want to be. I came out of this experience wanting to advance my skills and to go for my Level 2 certificate.
I was a custodian at a daycare. It was a challenging environment to work in as teachers and kids often stayed late waiting for some of the parents to come and pick up their kids.
Some of the rooms were often very untidy with toys all over, making it difficult to clean them. Some of the rooms also had things like paint, glue and sunscreen on the floor, which made it difficult to wash.
The hardest part of the job was issues with the rooms as far as mopping them went. The easiest part of the job was that it was the same routine every day.
