Avis d'employé sur Island Health
Unsupportive management and work can be stressful
Left hand doesn't seem to know what the right hand is doing. Management hard to connect with and unhelpful. Understaffed and underpaid front line workers. Management and "leader" heavy.

Working with people
understaffed front line
Unionized. Extremely challenging, many complacent employees waiting to retire. If you get a good team to work with then be happy about it, its hard to get through a shift without an under trained or non caring team member making your workload unbearable. Lack of accountability and too much he said she said. Union will help but even they can't right all the wrongs. Sidways bullying and harrasment from the top is rampant.
Some atmosphetes are toxic
With 20 years in Island Health working in all hospitals from Nanaimo south, this company fosters a culture of dominance, bullying and disrespect of employees. My wage has stagnated having not had a raise in over 15 years. I would never recommend this company to anyone.
Being just a number
Due to provincial cut backs in the health sector, this hospital has had to drastically down size the employees and positions within their hospital system. Of course, moral is bad. Too many good people are having to deal with too many pressures of the financial situation.
Beautiful location and great people
