Not informed of the duties I would be tasked with as a pharmacist: standing in a +32 deg C stuffy, poorly lit, dirty warehouse checking rx's all day for embarrasingly low wages.

When asked if I could bring a standing fan into the warehouse to make the temperature bearable, was told it was unsafe. This coming from the manager who did nothing to rectify bare wires hanging outside the fridges that twice smelled burnt. This also coming from a manager that allows broken chairs to be used by staff. One chair broken to the point that if one were to sit on it you you would end up on the floor, yet staff were expected to sit in it to print waybills. Another broken chair sitting in the lunch room (aka closet).


Poorly running fridges that constantly break down, requiring cold chain orders to be moved over and over again. Disorganized procedures and minimal communication.


Manager and company does not appear to care about the temporary contractors - take advantage of primarily Canadian newcomers who won't likely raise concerns with the horrendous working conditions.


Manager does not support staff when they are "yelled at" over the phone from a colleague in another city due to small meaningless errors on packing slip. Several staff reported being "put in their place" by this colleague, yet the manager does nothing.


Witnessed a contractor get fired yesterday after 2.5 days for a packaging error that most likely was not her fault. Yes, the worker had a bit of an attitude, but only because she was also not informed that as a pharmacy assistant required to have +++ experience

Staff had different standards to follow to perform the same tasks

Hire warm bodies- not hiring suitable and professionally trained nurses

Poor management, head office in Ontario barely came by to see what their "perfect" manager was actually like in real like. Constantly got things thrown back in my face, never congratulated for a job well done, only the small problems. Very high stress environment, no real teamwork ethic. Had no real human resources department, no real person to talk to if there was conflict in the workplace.
