During their peak period, the team management make sure that their staff are comfortable by providing them free breakfast and free lunches some days. Nice workplace environment, but during peak period of calls, there are lots of calls and work
Very difficult to work with, or for, a high level executive that doesnt communicate and therefore sabotages your ability to work properly. Having an executive that takes no responsibility or blame for mistakes, due to the lack of communicating his needs, therefore making it next to impossible to work alongside. No review after 3 months or a year, and no feedback, when asked, on how you are working and if you are meeting their specific needs. executive

Change is difficult for this firm. Strong political landscape makes decisions and ideas difficult to implement change. Has a strong affiliation with National Bank which also makes positive change difficult to implement. Overall a challenging environment for the Advisors and their clients.
Fun place to work; its people are its greatest assets by far. A group of professionals and fun easy going from management right down to employees. I enjoyed coming to work each and everyday because the work is versatile and never a boring moment on a typical day.
Work from home flexibility
Lack of recognition programs
Growth is extremely limited - Industry has passed IA by and you can tell with the type of management they have implemented there. If you are a young ambitious individual this is not the company for you as it is an environment lacking enthusiaim and motivation.
A lot of computer work reviewing interesting files. I learned a lot about mental health and rehabilitation associated with this. My manager and colleagues were very supportive and helpful. Workplace culture was great and I worked with an amazing team. The hardest part of my job was sitting in front of the computer all day and not getting out to see clients in person. Finding solutions to assist long term disability files and seeing them make progress and succeed.
Excellent company to work for. Work environment is good. Good Work life balance. It is the fourth largest Insurance company in Canada. Most enjoyable part of the job is to work with lot of different type of people including co workers, clients, business partners.
A typical day involves phone calls, and manoeuvring between two but similar operating systems - which becomes redundant. You are told exactly how to do your job, including what personal notes to take and how to take them. Management and training is very controlling, not open to improvement suggestions, even the simple, obvious ones. The computer systems are quite complex and there is no need for them to be. Once you master the system however the job is straight forward, and each call is different. Co workers are great, a fantastic place to work in terms of morale, friendships and team spirit.
like the boss. boss give me flexible hour to work. I was working part time only. Well, stayed there for 4 years. And I like to continue working there, but my boss is sick and going to retired.
IA is a company that is in growth mode or development mode in some divisions. This can be challenging in that daily demands to be able to compete in a market place where product and brand recognition creates an environment of high tension.
Industrial Alliance was a great learning experience and within this time helped me with my personal growth and development. I had the opportunity to use my ability in a team environment and handle tight timelines. As this was a temporary position, I enjoyed my time at Indurtrial Alliance.
