Worst hospital ever
Enviormental Services Cleaner (Ancien employé) –  York, ON20 juillet 2019
The management staff only favours People of their own kind IE being black and family members, Hours recorded when and before accepting the job, was false, less hours where provided under 32 hours, everyone else that was part time exceeded those hours, plus management staff is not with humber 3rd party management, also pretending to care and attend to their staff, they just throw your a work sheet get the job done once that was finished they will add another 50+ tasks to be completed, they will only help people of their own kind no one else

Toxic
Clinical Specialist (Ancien employé) –  Toronto, ON10 juillet 2019
Toxic; Nepotism is alive and well at Humber River Hospital! Director listened to people who had a vendetta. Sorry, as he was and is a nice enough guy. Old fashioned old boys network! Advice: run!

Very toxic environment and backward mentality
Assistant (Ancien employé) –  Toronto, ON5 juillet 2019
What can I say but Humber River Hospital is a joke and overall the worse place I have ever worked at. If I ever need medical attention, I will tell the ambulance to fly by that hospital and take me anywhere else. Confidentiality is nil in that place starting from top management. Only look to be promoted if you are friends or family. I saw people promoted to management positions with barely a high school diploma while others with proper credentials and experience were overlooked because the job was specifically created for them.

There is absolutely no work/life balance although it is promoted everywhere - not sure why they waste their time. Forget about going on breaks and lunches if you want to keep your job if you are in a non union position. Very cut throat environment. I have never seen so many uneducated assistants that thrive on cut throat behaviour instead of improving their clerical skills. At times the behaviour in the workplace can be seen as biased. Grown adults act like little children and bring their personal woes to the workplace. High absence attendance rates and failed job performance will guarantee you a place in the organization. If you are too experienced, professional, and don't feed into the inappropriate behaviours, you will not find yourself holding a position there for long.

May God help those who think they are working amongst friends as they will learn very quickly that those relationships are near impossible to build in that place since most have the mentality of a viper/snake. Its too bad the old CEO had to leave - at least you
plus... knew what you were going to get with him.

Do yourself a favour and work in a place where you are not constantly pulling daggers out your back while they use you as sport. In my opinion, the best places to work in that place is in areas and positions where there is a Union to advocate on your behalf.

great workplace with many opportunities for learning
SALES ASSOCIATE (Ancien employé) –  Toronto, ON5 juillet 2019
a great team of volunteers to work and learn alongside.

got to be familiarised with various systems including POP, OLGand Floral Stock.

Management is a joy to interact with, and very understanding, as well as generous to their volunteers.

Loved being able to help patients, fellow staff and visitors find the items they needed and loved.

Productive workplace
Housekeeper/Porter (Ancien employé) –  Weston, ON25 juin 2019
Working with my coworkers was great but the management was horrible they did nothing to make you feel like you belong there. They were just good at talking about people and not giving credit when due. Your coworkers make it worth while to work there other than that just do you work and go home.

Co-workers in the MI department are very nice and helpful. Felt like a small family. The MI nurses sometimes go above and beyond their responsibility to ensure excellent patient outcomes.

Toxic work environment with no morale
Management (Ancien employé) –  Wilson4 avril 2019
Horrible place to work. If you have read about a hostile and toxic work environment, that's because it is true. I experienced it first hand.

It's a hierarchical management system that benefits those who cannot think for themselves.

Management will do anything to paint a perfect picture even if it means behaving in unethical ways - absolutely no integrity.

Nursing student (Ancien employé) –  12 WEST16 février 2019
I worked at Humber River Hospital as a Nursing student.

So I cannot rate this hospital in the above aspects but I did cuz it was required.

whoever, as a nursing student I felt disappointed as I saw some

patients were suffering from the things that could be prevented by

good nursing care. this experience in a high technology healthcare

facility made me understand how nurses or PSWs can impact the

quality of care, no matter how equipped is the place.

Staff Registered Nurse (Ancien employé) –  Toronto, ON9 janvier 2019
The nurses are great to work with. Very helpful. However, management does not appreciate all the hard work and dedication that their staff has placed in their work. Ultimately, management thinks about business and image.
