If you can last 2 years you are probably set. Anything less and you’re at risk of being laid-off (and these rounds of layoffs happen a few times per year).
Is this game company doing well? Is it worth moving to from a larger company?
The upper management situation makes it have to recommend any movement to this studio. Plus there the job security here is rather dire. Might be okay for a first-time job if you’re really desperate.
Very chill and laid back work environment. Talented staff and professional management. The company as a whole is amazing.
From what I’m hearing this place has issues with a toxic work culture. Could anybody here verify or provide some infos? Asking for a friend.
Only a small percentage of employees are toxic and management could've done a better job of screening, but the rest are very talented and team players. Most of these people are willing to bend over backwards to help one another. Not every person is going to agree with everything a company does.
The upper management situation makes it very hard to recommend working here. Certain execs have huge egos and try to insult the few employees they feel threatened by. This was not easy to observe and it often makes things very uncomfortable. High turnover rate is due to people quitting (including some very high performers recently) and people getting laid off (also includes capable people). Company outlook is quite poor.
For a data analyst it lasts about 3 h. There are phone interviews before, then the on-site interviews. You get a tour of the office and there is a whiteboard exercise where you explain answers to interview questions. It’s pretty standard stuff.
