What is the best part of working at the company?I had GREAT Managers who TRUSTED the work I had done.What is the most stressful part about working at the company?I was MOSTLY only given less than 24 hours notice to respond to being deployed to my next camp site.What is the work environment and culture like at the company?The FIREBASE camp firefighters were appreciative of the GREAT FOOD, and cleanliness of OUR campsite!What is a typical day like for you at the company?Work, eat, rest and go back to work.

What is the best part of working at the company?Way under paid. Took 4 weeks to get an ROE. So great people work for the company but the company itself it's greedy and very unprofessional. I would seriously suggest, as a long time Chef myself, look elsewhere. The pay is absolutely embarrassing What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Terrible wage. Never the right numbers. The list goes on and on and on.What is the work environment and culture like at the company?You get what you pay for lol. In this case, people that are lazy, complain endlessly and don't have the needed skill level. What is a typical day like for you at the company?Frustrated. Frustrated and way underpaid.

Company treats you like a robot with long hours and high standards for average pay. Camps shut down and they make you unable to apply for other camps while working at current camp within company. Only plus is that your colleagues usually make the job bearable.

Management has kept me here. Kitchens can be frustrating and camps with high volumes are intense. However, I enjoy working here trying to improve takes effort.

12hr shifts, food avaliable 24-7. Fast pace place to work. No alcohol or drugs, uniform provided, pants required at own cost, depending upon position. Friendly environment. 2 1/2 hrs from Sudbury by bus to camp. Security at bus station before departure to camp.

Terrible Managment

If you’ve never worked in camp life like I had, be prepared to be extremely unprepared by management staff. They essentially throw you into the job with no training whatsoever. They also lie about the job rotation times. For example I was told I’d be working 20 days on 10 days off. When I got there I was informed I would be 21 days on 7 days on. You have basically zero support from management as you’re out in the middle of nowhere. Pray you get good staff on your team as it will be the only thing that saves you.

Loved working, would consider doing it again.Always a great adventure, working on set up crews. Beautiful locations, mostly. Great staff and high priority on worker health and safety.

I worked with horizon north for three months and 20 hours away from my probation all period ending I was let go. I’ve always done my job and had never been an issue for anyone. This company can be very unprofessional and I do not recommend anyone work for this company.

The company has a solid foundation but the areas senior management seems to care more about how they look, than the people they manage. I would recommend the company outside of Northern Ontario.
