A typical work day involves finding which manager would be around and briefing the duties of the day. Are there any VIP guests? Special events? Issues? Feature sales specials?

A thorough setup is conducted by opening staff, and the remaining floor staff arrive to set up their sections, check reservationsand prepare the cash and computer system for service.


The culture of the Workplace is fast and furious for a continuous 8 hours in the busy fall and winter seasons and then typically light and even paced during the warmer months.


The hardest part of the job is the sheer pace of activity involved to fully look over all the duties of a section, maintaining turnover and providing high quality service


Most enjoyable is the service time during the day because it leaves evenings open and free for personal use. Also, the employee package and benefits provided are of good quality.

Enjoyed working here. The hours were great for a serving job and the company was decent. Unfortunately, they laid off the entires restaurant staff due to renovations.

BOH is nice enough, always friendly and approachable team.
FOH can be decent but a little cliquey. Some really grouchy staff.

FOH and BOH management plays favorites, openly disparage managers and staff in front of you. Makes it awkward and hard to trust that you are being treated well given this type of behaviour.

Chef is known to verbally abuse staff. Has 'good days' and 'bad days' which dictate how carefully the staff should engage with him and which rules will and will not be enforced. This is understood amongst everyone. As a new hire, I was warned to keep a distance and to 'be careful' with the chef. In my opinion, a bad temper is not a substitute for a personality, nor is it 'just a thing that chef's have.'

Really uncomfortable environment for bipoc. Staff does not reflect the city that we live in.

There could've been improvements and changes in teamwork.
There were issues with payroll.

Some of the employees were more helpful than others.

Management was really helpful and always kept an open door policy, and helped their employees.

The annual employee family BBQ is fun.

The Christmas party for employees family is great for children.

I worked in the restaurant, it was a terrible work environment. I felt ostracised by the management, many servers including the head chef and sous chef have moved on.

The director of catering through intimidation influenced her staff to also participate in propagating this culture of animosity by threatening them with their jobs. I was lucky I was only a server and could leave.


Apply at your own risk! Not a good environment. This review is only for the restaurant.
