If you’re a fast learner, or have some retail experience already, then it can be fun and worthwhile. If you’re unfamiliar, don’t expect much training or shifts. Hours are pretty low for everyone, but if you’re not an experienced or trained associate, then expect one shift a week if any. It’s a good job to have if you already have a part time job, or are a full time student, and shifts are usually easy to trade. Your work is rewarded with more hours, but asking questions is super important to doing well, because for the most part you’re expected to learn on your own. From what I’ve seen advancement is only open to people who are friends with the store/district manager and management is not afraid to hide their favouritism.
