The management here treats their employees very poorly and don't really care much about the overall of the restaurant. breakfast is busy due to hotel coupons. if it wasn't for this the place would sink. Very hard to do your job when the inventory is so low and the lack of communication is very high.
Doing the daily tasks in guest rooms were straight forward and mostly easy, but dealing with my Maintenance Manager was very stressful. I became stressed thinking about coming to work due to never knowing how my immediate Manager was going to be that day ie the mood he was in etc, plus the worker I worked with the majority of the time & trained under mostly had an ok attitude and he helped me alot but whenever I'd forget a tools name or how to do a certain step in repairing a heat pump etc he'd get snarky which was annoying
Great staff other than my dept(maintenance)
Immediate Manager was moody and miserable
Most of the work is Cleaning ,wash rooms, emptying trash cans, cleaning the parking area and parkcade, cleaning the pool area, and storing the supplies in the stock room. For someone who is fond cleaning and doing housekeeping chores. Staffs and coworkers are nice and friendly.

Was a very nice place to work, I was let go due to an unfortunate schedule change from me that didn't coincide with what they needed from me, I would gladly work here again.
2$ staff lunches and free shuttle home when working late
Some of the staff could be a little mean but never to customers
An overall friendly group of people to work with makes a day at work a much more enjoyable experience. In the time I've worked there I learned much about hospitality and customer interactions. However, there have been many problems as well regarding interactions, or lack thereof, with management and between departments at the specific Holiday Inn location I worked at, though I cannot speak for Holiday Inn as a whole. Scheduling was often disorganized, new employees received little training, and trying to get information or to stay informed was difficult as well. The hotel industry is very unpredictable so this is understandable at times, but then when we as workers made suggestions or gave feedback about how to improve certain situations they sometimes went unheard or unresolved.
Great discounts and benefits, great people and friendly co-workers, many staff appreciation events
Severe lack of communication between departments and from upper management

IHG (holiday inn) is a great company to work for great staff and management incentives. i strive to provide top of the line customer servive. every guest should have a smile on their face when they walk in and a bigger smile when they walk out knowing that they had an amazing stay and an amazing hotel with staff members that produce outstanding service
Maintenance manager needs more people skills. He has no desire to listen to explanations or to answer questions regarding some aspects of the work needing to be done in building. Always berates staff loudly in front of other staff members. Does not keep word about pay raise after trial period. Has no wish or desire to accept other ideas for other ways to do some jobs in maintenance areas. Is always suspicious of staff members in his department.
lots of work
poor people skills with employees in maintenance shop with maintenance manager.
Steady work pace with great customers that appreciate everything you do for them. I learned how to deal with tough situations and handle the Bar with no supervision Excellent management very welcoming and carrying.
very gossipy place to work if you dont fit in you are talked about. The chefs are control freaks. Managers are unfair. You cant have cool hair. No faddish hairstyles are you in the 50's
1/2 price meals
breaks are few
I enjoyed working at Holiday Inn. The management was great and the working atmosphere was incredible. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Very interactive work place, mostly friendly staff, benefits were great, independent type of work, long shifts. The management & staff always made each day great for both the guests and the employees! Most enjoyable part of the job was interacting with the different guests & building relationships with the regulars.
meeting new people everyday
This job has no advancement in the near future, if ever, and also we will not receive any raises unless minimum wage increases, as well as management seems to not be acting fair when gratuities are given,
close to home
Income potential with this job
Productive and fun work place where we can talk to guests and play with kids and also make sure that guests are following rules.
I spend most of my weekends at work where I do the cleaning, playing with kids, ensure guests are following all the rules in the pool and play structure area. I spend 8 hours standing and watch people in the pool just in case an accident happens. I don't learn much in my work place but my co-workers are fun to work with because we do all the cleanings together and our teamwork is the best. The hardest part of the job is when you're the only one working and a lot of guests are complaining about something that you can't do it all at once but the most enjoyable part is mostly spending time playing with the kids and cleaning the area.
Delicious and huge meals
Standing for 8 hours long without sitting
Its great to be able to move all over the hotel and help and contribute to the betterment of the hotel. I learned that we were secretly applying Napoleon Hill's "Think and grow rich" under the guise of corporate training. Everybody that works in hospitality has Character. The hardest part of the job was having to stand at the front desk and not do anything because no one came by, I loved how this made me get so creative though.
not very helpful to the hotel, standing around. And had no way to change it
