I had worked as a guard here as both a Lifeguard/Supervisor. My time guarding here had been interesting, to say the least with multiple changes in the workplace and management over the years. I have seen this place at it's highest and lowest points, through the good and the bad. If you were to ask me what it's like currently, I would say it's in the middle. Here's why. The pool itself isn't too bad, but there is a lot of maintenance around the place that needs to be done. It constantly has issues such as waves not working, the slide lights not working properly causing major issues with slide traffic, the bottom of the pool starting to crack and flake into the water and lights that tend to burn out without being replaced. Not to mention a majority of pump system components are way overdue for replacement or constantly breaking down. Management, in terms of the people who work there, are very good people and generally will be very helpful with most needs you have but don't expect anyone to know anything about how the pool operates or how to fix things as they will expect supers to know that. One thing I wish we had here was a proper Pool Manager who would oversee the guards and have proper Pool Ops certification to train people. Co-workers for the most part are great to hang out with and are mostly College/University and High School students looking to make money during the school year. Schedules are usually pretty good for hours in terms of part/full time. Time off can be hard to get especially during stat holidays so be prepared to ask for it early. Also, the pay is lower - plus...
Great Co-workers and Management, Great hours for Part and Full time, Pretty easy pool to guard if you can handle a waterpark setting, Discounts on Hotel rooms
Teenagers, Sports teams and Birthday Parties will make your life miserable especially on a Friday And Saturday, Parents for Sport teams or just public swimmers in general can be very rude and entitled people, Parents who drink their hearts out on deck ( which is Illegal but they don't care), Parents who don't get in the water with kids, Chemicals being out of balance sometimes
When I was first hired there was decent management at first. The manager hated her job and was not customer service orientated. She would stand over you like bird to make you feel less than herself and ended up quitting when she had to be at the front desk instead of in her back office. We went through 4 managers in the front end. They sold the business and the owner didn’t realize how much debt they became in . We would legit use towels to tie on the slides because they were leaking and nobody would fix them. They changed the uniforms and made all tattooed employees wear long sleeves while non tattooed people didn’t . The manager commented on my body saying I was too skinny and would get different pants
I worked as a maintenance man and learned all kinds of things. My supervisor was cool and laid back as well as management. The work was very easy and no real rush but I was experiencing unrelated health issues and was let go. I have no hard feelings to them as they are a business and need to get the job done.
Work at times was too easy
This hotel was often under staffed for the amount of work that had to be completed during each shift. There were periods of time during my employment that there was minimal management staff and senior staff members such as myself were required to step up and fill positions without any kind of compensation of relief from other duties.

I really enjoyed working here. The staff were friendly, the management team was good and they were good with being flexible around school schedules. This was the perfect student job.
Everyday was different, I enjoyed working with the people who were involved in my workplace area. Everyone worked well as a team, there were some days where it was longer and harder than others, but always made it through. It was fun getting to know different people.
Always facing the unknown when going into work. The team was very good to work with .Management was selfish, and did not care about its staff. Treated its foreign workers horribly. Would not work there again.
Small, friendly team of coworkers
Hard work, for little pay.
My job as a housekeeper, helped me to be efficient in a small time. The management was nice. The work was really good splited between employees.
Good people to work with and learn new things
Sometimes work gets disgusting, because some guests are nasty
Overall, the Holiday Inn did not have the correct management in place to be training employees. If one messed up a transaction or email they were criticized by the management openly and in front of others. It became very tight-knit between the employees versus the management of the front desk. The most enjoyable part of the job was being able to learn quickly and keep up to the standards that were in place. I most enjoyed creating a relationship with other managers that were in other areas of the business.
Creating relationships with other employees and managers.
odd shifts, not very flexible
What a work day included was a list of about 18 rooms each per day. What I learned was how to create a routine to clean rooms properly but in less time. Management was friendly. My co-workers were hard working and easy going. The hardest part of the job was cleaning the party rooms. The most enjoyable part of the job was being able to work in teams and get double the rooms done in the lime limit one person would get their list done. What an accomplishment!
The Job: I guard the lives of all the patrons in the pool. Dealt with public relation issues. Conducted First Aid on site. Handled Chemicals such as Chlorine and Muriatic acid. The People: Management is nice and friendly. Co-workers are some of the best I've ever had. Rest of the Hotel staff are friendly.
Always work available.
Staff can be unreliable at times, work on weekends.
It depends if you are front auditor or back auditor. If you are the back auditor for that night, you need to review the cash-outs, make sure it all added up, figure out why it doesn't add up if it doesn't, close the debit machines, input data, wipe the computer system. If you were on the front, you had to go through every single room's information and make sure the papers matched what was in the computer system, input data as well. The management was alright. Not overly understanding if you had to take time off for whatever reason. If you didn't have any concerns, the management was easy to get along with. The co-workers were very cliquey, very difficult to earn their respect as a fellow co-worker. The hardest part of the job was when the computer systems went down and we weren't able to complete the duties we were supposed to. That made it super stressful. The most enjoyable part of the job was if the system didn't go down, we had a lot of time to just relax and get to know your coworkers more
Lots of good training, lots of food and snacks that were left from the day staff
It was a night job, I can not do night jobs, often fell asleep when we got everything done.
