Everyone I have worked with has been very nice. Sometimes management can be disorganized. You're pushed to work really hard and that's wonderful motivation but somethings are out of the worker's control, which can be hard to work with. Sometimes not enough workers are scheduled which puts extreme pressure on workers to do well as management says their management needs to crack down on the workers who are doing their best. Overall, a nice place to work, just wish there was more help sometimes.

I just started working at H&M and I enjoy it very much. Everyone is very friendly, supportive and they encourage one another to do their best work. It's a very motivating atmosphere, and the employees are a wide range of people that are easy to talk to. You can be yourself and you are always doing something different every day. The hours are good if you are a student, but not too steady. However, it depends on what is going on in your life (school, other work, etc).
Managers, employees, all-around welcoming atmosphere, motivating
Hours, some scheduling, not steady hours
Not a bad job but our store has 4 hour shifts for all sales associates and not a lot of room for advancement. Coworkers are really friendly, as are managers, but the amount of hours I get are trash.
The management seemed to not really care about the employees and also seemed to pick and choose who they liked and gave the hours to those people. The work environment felt unfair and when asking for hours the management would tell me that i would receive them and then give them to a person who called in three times per week.
Some people were very nice to work with
It was an unfair work environment with no structure
I have worked for H&M for 10 years and have thoroughly enjoyed my time there. The environment that I work has a family feeling and I like working with all my coworkers. The management team is wonderfully supportive and backs us 100%.
Paid Birthdays off
Long hours on my feet.
H&M is great for students/young people, you'll make lots of friends. No one is high strung-you do your job and do it well and they leave you alone. Its a lot of self motivated work; running (replacing) clothes, keeping the fitting room clean, cashing out customers. Closing is the worst if youre at a very busy store however the busier stores have the BEST coworkers. You have to stay late to close but if youre closing with experienced people its not too bad. I also worked at a slow store; it was the worst. They hired any and everyone, people who were completely unmotivated and slow. Interview is super easy; just be yourself, its not a formal serious interview-try to find a few commonalities with the managers and just have a convo with them. My interview was literally 3 or 4 questions and a conversation with the two managers who were interviewing me; we had a lot of shared interests and had lived in the same areas of Toronto!
Make friends, Chill people, Discount is awesome, You can hold sale clothes before customers come in
I was with the company for about 5 years its a good place for teenagers to build a resume and personality the company is overall good but the management sucks and isn't fair. They are not fair enough for Women who are pregnant. day to day for a part timer is Running clothes taking care of the fitting room being on cash. rotating between Functions occasionally being on truck. Learning the skills at H&M is amazing it will take you far. I jumped from one retailer to another and H&M is the ONLY company that i've seen work as efficiently in a fast past environment. Meeting new friends and networking was my favourite part of working there. if it wasn't for my co-workers I would of not known how I would make it through the day.
Terrible management, terrible pay. Been working here part-time for many years, haven't had a raise in a very long time. This company is the worst to work for. Cutting back all part-time employees to 4 hour shifts! Not entitled to a break during the 4 hour shifts - this company needs to be reported to the Better Business Bureau. Absolute garbage.
Too many to mention...
I learned all my job skills at this company great people and great training fun and safe environment depending on your availabilities you might not get many hours very understanding for students every shift is something new and fun hardest part is finding skills to deal with customers
not enough shifts
Depending on location it can be one of the most busiest stores. For me it was busy but you get used to the fast pace u have to be in. The pay may not feel like it's worth the amount of work you put in but the co workers, managers, and environment make up for it.
The discount was 25%
