Management at H&M is actually great. All our managers are easy to talk to and make you want to talk with them. Although this job does feel like a drag once you work for too long you build great relationships with you coworkers.
A typical day is filled with customer service, running clothes, processing garments, folding etc. Working for the store I've learned a lot about the fashion industry. Workplace environment is cool. The hardest part is work/life balance depending on your position. Most enjoyable thing is meeting other people.

guildford H&M is ran by a bunch of stupid twits that basically treat the help like slaves... I had finished everything for the day and decided to sit down for the last 2 mins of my shift and have a drink of water... they said I was lounging in the break room and fired me because of it..
The company does not care about the workers. To anyone who is applying, the longest shift you will get is 5 hours max and 1-2 shifts per week. The management does not care about the worker's concerns because they are more concerned about meeting sales quotas. I understand that if the store isn't making enough money that means less hours but if there is a high turnover rate in employees there is something wrong within the company and its policies. I highly urge that you do not apply if you are a student in university, you will not get shifts and you will no choice but to quit because you cannot pay your tuition working one 3 hour shift per week
No hours, it's a waste of time
A typical day at work consisted of putting clothing back on the floor, attending to customer needs, time doing customer transactions, setting up displays. My co-workers were amazing people that made going to work great. The hardest part of the job was dealing with people who would come from area office. They assume you don't know how to do your job and treat you in a disrespectful manner. The most enjoyable part was being around my co-workers. Some members of management were fantastic and were what you would want as a manager and others were not so great. Some of them did not pull their weight and were unapproachable.
area office visits, bad management
