Hours of work will depend on the nature of the position. Many positions work a standard Monday to Friday, daytime schedule; however front line delivery positions may work shifts and weekends.

Lack of support, they are running this province into the ground

If the GoA continues to have a salary freeze, they will likely encounter challenges with retention and attraction of top talent. The recruitment procedure is so regimented that people with advanced skills are overlooked because they don't meet the MRS (Minimum Recruitment Standards). It is my opinion that the MRS is too regimented and results in candidates not being assessed on their value to the organization.

The Government of Alberta uses behavioral event interviewing (tell us about time you…) with a focus on competency assessment. Most interviews will be up to an hour long and include a panel with a supervisor and a Human Resource representative.
