Poor administration. The warehouse manager at night shift has serious communication problems. small chances of growth. Very hostile work environment, the office lady mistreats the people of the night shift. It is not a good place to work.

Been here going on four years now. Fantastic place to work great co-workers management is amazing they treat you really good plenty of over time hours

If you want to work your life away with no balance for your home life this jobs for you. Management is brutal they don’t care about you they just want the job done. I did work for this company for a few years and it went downhill after the first year.

this company tried to ruin my next employment due to the fact they were losing an AZ driver. That sidhu in HR and his team are evil. I got injured and bc i found a better job i moved on and let go of wsib. They called my next employer and said im a lier. Lol i still got the job mr.sidhu. for all those lifting 20k pounds a day and saying they make more than owner operators don't know anything about trucking. Hiring process is long and boring.

Orientation they say one thing, on the floor working is totally different. Very dangerous practices, that have zero consequences. Speed based job. No union = no job security. Zero safety and reckless environment

Safety is our number one priority and our dedicated Health and Safety Manager, as well as our Safety and Wellness team review trends, injuries and preventative and proactive measures on a regular basis. The feedback we have collected and receive do not reflect your comments above. Our policies, corrective measures, and disciplinary practices are reflective of an overall safe working environment. This is also reflective in our bi-annual employee opinion surveys where we review how employees perceive and feel about safety at GFS. culture is horrible although they post tons of pictures to make it look like it is amazing. teachers pets are the only ones who are ever promoted. Dont bother applying

I believe the company could be managed better New management does not always mean better in most cases I have nothing generally bad to say about the company they were fair in most ways legally! I learned alot about my industry from working alongside experienced drivers I really did enjoy my job
Been with the company over 20 years in sales, came from the demanding world of food service. As everyone knows this industry is tough but if you like people, food and challenges this is a great place to make a great career. Being family owned and ran the values you believe are the same values the company wants you to bring to the industry and your clients
Good culture, good people great company to work for
I found, like most big companies, just not enough training to feel confident in your position. Had there been more training, an employee would feel more confident and self-assured in his/her position. When something happens, you aren't just hearing it from your boss, but about 50 others. Did not appreciate that.
Too many chiefs
I want to start off saying that things used to be better when I started working here a number of years ago. The pay is still the same, the work is the same, the change has been in Warehouse Leadership. There was a time when we were staffed properly and leadership helped out the employees. If you're interested in working here, you'll find that they expect you to work until you drop from exhaustion and those same people won't move from the computer to help. Their aim now is to get as many people in there, no matter what quality of worker you are. This has led to more injuries, more unsafe practices and more conflict in the workplace. This, coupled with the fact that you're already separated from normal people who work days, has led to more instances of open hostility between coworkers than I've ever seen anywhere else. A couple of years ago, I would have absolutely recommended this place to start out a career. As it stands right now, I wouldn't wish this environment on anyone. I was told when I first started that out here that our turnover rate about 1 in 3 people. Meaning 1 person in 3 new hires will not make it through the probation period. This was a flat out lie. The turnover rate is more accurately sitting around 4 in 5 people. Meaning that if you're new, no one who has been there for any amount of time will talk to you. I could be writing this review all day. So in conclusion, I would like to just tell people to be wary of the lies they feed you and if you value your own happiness, just stay away. There are so many better career paths to take instead of - plus...

I loved working here. My colleagues were mostly all great to work with. Enjoyed my route and all the connections I made. They often made mistakes on my paycheque and shorted me. It is very easy to rack up internal points and get fired, unfortunately. They will write you up for minor incidents whether your fault or not.

They promise you will have the best benefits after three month, but before 3 month they kick you out. I got injured there, I could not move my hand for 6 month. I applied in WCB and of course GFS said I did not accept that and also of course WCB supports companies always and they did not give me anything. They destroyed my life. If you feel yourself a good slave this company is the best for you.
