This job was enough to sustain myself as a student, just barely. In truth I was contributing far more hours than I was paid to, and I earned only enough to ensure I lived. Management was alright, but the position itself was structured without consideration of the fact that it is a human who takes it on.
A person could make the job much easier for themselves by simply not doing the work involved, but to actually represent the company well and meet the needs of clients, one has to sacrifice a lot for no personal benefit.

Being on-call creates the constant fear of a sudden emergency, living on-site prevents one from ever being "off the clock"
