lots of perks to working for a company like Giant Tiger. The associates get one hour lunch breaks, christmas parties, pot lock lunches, free birthday cake and your birthday schedued day off.
I am a cashiere and I find it often not stimulating enough, I need more to my day to day roles and duties. I want to use my brain more, i actually miss school and need more responsibility and want a job where there is room for advancement and I need to wake more money.

Was with company 5 years 4 of them Partime then final 5th year was given fulltime then after that year was told I had to be put to Partime again I said nope I quit (slap in the face) 😔💩👿

Overall 3 star review the atmosphere was well there, break room sucked. Management treated me like i was dirt because i was the only male cashier. I worked harder every day i worked there incase future employees read this take note of management expertise cause there it will bite you.
Poor pay, management problems, nasty break room.
this company was a great one to work for, everyday working there was enjoyable. the management was supportive in teaching you things you were interested to learn about to further your knowledge about the company. You would be able to grow even more if you had knowledge in French and English both. It was amazing company to work for.
enjoyabe work environment
A typical day was serving customers, and helping with their inquires and helping them out to the best of my abilities. My co workers were great and easy to work with. They worked with me and with my schedule knowing I have kids.
You always get one co worker that is jealous of the work you do.
My experience at Giant Tiger has helped me improve my customer service skills, greatly. The team work abilities and comunication skills were very helpful in the workplace and i have learned a lot.
It is a great company to work for but it is not my passion. They have been very support of me and allowing to adjust my hours while I attended college. Working with the public. I have learnt how listen to the customer needs and respond in a manner that solves thier issue.

I worked at Giant tiger part-time during my secondary and college studies, I worked the customer service desk and was able to help out in any other store sub departments. The management team was mediocre. The hardest part was getting enough hours, what I loved most about Giant Tiger is it's a Canadian Company and the CEO was an ottawa south local who helped fund a lot of non profit organizations.
