The people I worked with there amazing and other than the owners it was a good place to work. You won’t get to pick your hours even if you were hired as full time or part time You will be doing other people’s work including your own and be expected to finish by the night
Pay, owners, hours, culture
A typical day at work at Giant Tiger was for the most part, a very easy-going, calm yet fast working environment. Everyone there is so friendly and welcoming! I did not learn much from this job, because I previously worked as a cashier before this position. The job was typically very easy with an average salary. Management was good, but gave me a hard time once when calling off while I had a throat infection.
Stressful at times, fast paced, perfect for students who need a part-time job. Management is always on site at all times so that’s a plus, especially when customers get out of hand (and that happens every few hours)
Flexible hours, decent management, friendly coworkers, fun environment.
Unfair pay, unpaid breaks only, easy to get fired.

Everyone I worked with was very helpful and we worked as a team. Most times you are busy so time flys by. From cashier, stocking shelves and to fashion, we all helped each other. Supervisors were always helpful and appreciated staff. Owners worked there too and treated everyone like family.
They lie to you they treat you harshly and they expect you to work during your break sometimes. This job will make you lose some self-worth.and they'll sometimes even yell at you
Its part time
Had to deal with a lot of different kinds of costumers, however as long as I was kept busy with either unpacking the boxes from our deliveries or cleaning certain sections it wasn't to bad of a place to be. I didn't like being on can but it does keep you busy throughout the day.
I enjoy working at Giant Tiger and the people I work with. I enjoy the people I meet every day. I sign in and go to my cash and prepare to meet with my first customer I check to see if I have enough cash tape and bags. I have learned about different promotions that they do Management is friendly the work place is friendly and the supervisor is very good and patience with new employees with helping them learn the job. The cash supervisors are there for you when you need them when it is extremely busy and you just want to keep the line moving and sometimes is not always possible due to things that may crop up the most enjoyable part is the customers and my co-worker we have a great laugh with each other when it is not busy.
All the enployess at giant tiger is friendly, everone strive for their best...no one slacks off and waste time
I recommend working at giant tiger if your in your 30's.it's a stress free work environment but advancing in the company is very hard because everyone try their very best
I enjoyed my time as a cashier but I was employed as part-time and they kept making me work as many shifts as a full time employee. Were very tough to get time off even when it was needed (doctors appointments etc). Made lots of new friends but would never work there again
I worked at GT from September 2003 til February 2009. I left due to a move out of Province. During the time of the move I was hospitalized in Edmonton Alberta. I would love the chance to work again at Giant Tiger.
I love to work at Giant Tiger because I feel my home in the store especially my colleagues we have unity and I feel so comforting with their love and concerned. Oh my God! the amazing support and willingness to help in every aspect of the situations especially when dealing with different customers.
I was hired as a Seasonal worker and was told by management that it would more than likely be a all season position and would be great to have me as part of the team. I felt welcome and was trained right away on cash and on how to do lotto and returns, which they didn't seem to do with the other new hire. I was disappointed when I came in the week after Christmas to see my name completely removed from the list of cashiers and when questioned I was told that I needed to read the white board and it was all explained there and was told nothing more. I only found out when I was talking to the cashier that was hired a few days before me she was told that I quit.
