I worked at a GTxpress in Wellington West and loved it there. I only stopped working there after I had moved too far away. The owner was nice, and the head supervisor was a gem.
Some crusty customers
i worked there for maybe a month and the whole time I was there I was bounced around between two different departments with not a lot of training other than cash (which i mostly learned from other jobs just had to learn their system) When i fell behind or things weren't completed due lack of staffing (often I worked my department by myself while also being called to up to cash CONSTANTLY) and switching me around to numerous tasks, I got a lot of passive aggressive comments about my "performance" or lack of (also the department they hired me for I had no experience in and I told them this to begin with) Also I didn't enjoy being interrogated every time I had to change my availability or book a day off (with a weeks notice as well) I felt incredibly unwelcomed, would not recommend working there unless you like being rushed, and disrespected...
lack of training, rude managment
Working with GT team is great fun and good experience. Management is very good and understand the situation of employees. Good working environment. My store manager was awsome and friendly.
Yeah occasionally provide free lunch by management.
For 8 hrs shift, one hr lunch is too long. It should be 40 minutes lunch

the work environment is incredible stressfull the cooler and freexer are usualy overstocked and mak it hard and nearlhy impossible to find stuff. there is mold everywhere you look in the backroom. the back room is also very unoginiesed and unsaf for some things. the break room has alot of space and a fridge and feexer for staff however the microwave barley heats stuff up properly the other cookwear looks like it hasnt been cleaned in at least 3 years. the boss is very intimidating and makes you feel bad for sking for time off or if an emergancy comes up. regardless most of the staff are great.
poor safty and and very dirty.
I worked for another retail/food company for 11 years, and now there’s not enough money in the world that they could offer me to go back there. When I left that company I was making $15.75....after 11 years AND I was HR at that point. All I ever got from that company was a 5 yr and 10 yr pin. I have been with GT just over a near now, make A LOT more than what I did with said company, I received a mug and letter on my 1 year, got a coat with my name on it, they had masks made with our company in it, they’ve paid for calypso trips for my family, golf trips, catered Xmas dinner, a massive shopping bag of goodies including a $25 LCBO card for Xmas and they constantly have draws and events going on throughout the weeks. After 2 years vested with company they pay for my benefits, I get enrolled into the full profit share (not to mention I still get a discretionary amount before 2 years) and deferred profit share. The management team are always available and willing to help you when you need it. In my opinion the ones that complain are the ones that want a free ride and don’t wanna work. This company is amazing and in my opinion there is not difficult job there. You just want to work, show up and do your job. Have some laughs and enjoy the friendly/great environment.
Free benefits after 2 years.
Whiners need to go.
Opportunties are those that are made by your own determination. I enjoy this company, and most people who have been there for years feel that they want to stay long-term . For me, I am only casual employee, so I like the other workers. It is always fun.
Giant tiger was a very slow pace job I didn’t really enjoy it that much,I definitely wouldn’t work there again, but the employees are very welcoming and makes it kinda interesting to work with them
If you want to be bullied then apply the people who work hard get missed on promotion and yelled at by trucking manager. People who do nothing no experience get promoted in 2 to 3 months. This why they can't keep dispatchers they feel like unwanted you work butt off and goes unnoticed
manager is no body
I’ve work their for over a year. They give you opportunity to more around an learn other departments. I am extremely happy their. They listen when I address issues an I get answers from my supervisors. If you do your job you will have no issues working for this company. If you miss to much time an don’t do your job then Yes you’ll get talked to ... asking if there is a problem. All staff is very understanding as long as you talk to them. Have a good attitude an you can exceed in with GTW. Great place to work. If you see a negative comment it obviously because that person screwed up an was let go. FOR A REASON. Ty
Great benefits. Full time employment. Uniforms. Awesome Training. Free lunches.. respected
