Fun not too bad! Can be super competitive and management can be a bit pushy but overall super fun! Organized company to work with :) a lot of staff which is always a plus

Positive work enivronment

Very fun and positive work environment to work in, and coworkers are always helpful and welcoming. Management is also good and very positive and willing to help at all times.

Don't work here

Management is awful and they are not organized at all at the Gap (Chinook). The managers play favourites with their sales associates which is unprofessional. They are rude and disrespectful to their employees. The managers have double standards therefore, they will come up to the floor to chat about their personal life with sales associates while the associates are trying to work. The managers are barely on the floor and when they are, they do not do any work for example the managers do not want to help the customers. The associates are really nice but management ruins the work environment.

Vary bad experience and so bad managers

So bad environment and always shouting for no reason They always yelling to the associat it was so bad experince in this company. I never see something like that in my current company at all

Very frustrating environment to work in

I had three training sessions with them, and after that I was not scheduled for the rest of the Christmas season. It made me extremely mad, and then they wouldn't deliver my cheque in the mail for another two months after that. Absolutely horrible management, I would never ever work for them again.

loved working for this company!! and still miss it, there so much to learn and the environment is amazing, so full of energy,and opportunity for advancement which as long as your driven is easy to achieve

This was a terrible place to work

I didn't enjoy working here. It was very disorganized. One manager would say one thing about the schedule and then the other the complete opposite. Customers weren't the best either. The company apparently spies on the staff with tiny cameras in the cash registers....which is what I was told by them anyways.... No trust for their employees.

Fun place to work with lots of great people. Experience is awesome

I really enjoy working at Gap. It has given me a lot of life skills and I've met a lot of awesome people as well. The management is very supportive in a lot of things you do, and will often back you up with your decisions.

Great people to work with! very organized and they treat their employees well! I would go back and work there anytime. Their product is amazing and they're ahead of the fashion game.

the atmosphere is kept light and fun at GAP with a focus on training and education. your ideas are heard and often implemented. if you and to be a person, not just a number, start here

Full of drama

Management likes to choose favorites and if you're not one of them you will be treated poorly, and given almost no hours regardless of your work ethic.

new experience

I haven't really worked for a long time at the GAP, but the reason why I had to stop working there is that they give very minimum hours per week, which was not what I was looking for by that time. My co-workers were very friendly and fun to work with.

good people you work with, fun and flexible. just couldnt stay longer because of school. if you dont reach the sale target some managers will be a little difficult about it but eh thats normal

It's alright.

My job as a Sales Associate/Cashier has given me a start on how to provide great customer service and to assist customers with trying on different types of clothing. Management at my location is pretty good, however they push you very hard sometimes even when they know that sometimes a sale can't/won't happen (during slow days, or even when the customer clearly just wants to look around and I've done all I could). The coworkers are excellent and are always in a positive mood as well as friendly, which makes it very tolerable. Nothing terribly hard or amazing since it's such a basic starting position to be quite honest. However, they always hire so many people to work for my location that it's completely overstaffed. This leads to not getting enough or even barely any hours/shifts. Even though I'm currently still employed with them with what should be a part time permanent position, I haven't had a SINGLE shift in months. I know most, if not all, of the people that still work at my location don't even get more than 20 hours a week. I understand that sometimes hours get cut due to economic/business reasons and I'm not expecting to get an insane amount of hours weekly, but this is just ridiculous. They might as well advertise that they are hiring seasonal associates without promising how many hours they'll receive. They really need to rethink their hiring practices and policies in my opinion. Lastly when it comes to pay, it's very basic at minimum wage. Don't expect any raises (unless min. wage is going to go up while you work there, or you are making a crazy amount of sales and -

Okay

The job was okay. Was very over staffed, didn't get the hours i asked for, the management didn't have much of a relation with other members of staff, and it just seemed like there was a lot of politics in that location.

The management was good

This company had the best management, but it had the worst salary. Also, the raise on your salary was next to nothing. One of my co-workers got a 3 cent raise after working for one year.

About Gap Inc.

The work environment was very upbeat and diverse, everyone was very well knit together and welcoming. Management was great with answering any questions or acknowledging any concerns, the hardest part of the job was balancing my core classes and working late. I really enjoyed the people and the interesting customers that I met while working there as well, I have created friendships outside of Gap Inc.

Management

Fun time with nice people, but what I'm disappointed is when you have to reach the Head Office, it's really hard to understand what they are saying at the phone and reach the good person. Also, when i quite the Job, it took a months and half to had my last pay check and pay stub, and i never had my T4 for my tax return.
