Not much communication or leadership
Equipment Coordinator (Employé actuel) –  Surrey, BC2 octobre 2019
Still learning the position but there is very little training or structure and very little resources to draw upon. You learn as you go by making mistakes.

Unprofessional Environment
Program Assistant (Employé actuel) –  Surrey, BC18 septembre 2019
Lack of professionalism. Its not an environment about your skills it's about how you belong in the the group environment. Favoritism is ongoing. No windows / no natural light. Cramped as lack of desk space. Yet the VP area is huge and possess ample room only for VPs

Exciting, easy, and fun!
Minor Test Shopper (Ancien employé) –  Surrey, BC11 juillet 2019
An easy job, get driven around to ask for tobacco at local retailers as a minor. Pay is amazing, hours are terrible (4 hours every two weeks if that). Management is creepy. Supervisor who drives you around is very forward and treats you like a piece of meat constantly checking you out which is so disgusting and degrading. Asks very personal questions and is offended when you don't share personal responses. Very moody supervisor, if you have a nice supervisor it is the perfect part time job!
Points positifs
Always go out for lunch, easy way to make friends with associate, great pay
Points négatifs
Creepy management, car sick from being in car all shift, always go out for lunch (use money you earned to pay for food)

Bullying culture encouraged by senior leadership
Patient Care Quality Representative (Ancien employé) –  Surrey, BC21 mai 2019
1950's style management culture of bullying, deception, and back stabbing personalities is encouraged from the top down.

No matter how disturbing it is, managers looking to climb the bureaucratic ladder have no choice but to abide by this culture.

Instead of using crowd psychology to encourage a herd mentality, the CEO should use emails to encourage everyone to create psychologically safe working environments, together!
Points positifs
Good benefits, nice restaurants near by, secure ebike parking
Points négatifs
Culture, herd mentality, upper management

Registered Psychiatric Nurse (Employé actuel) –  Surrey, BC28 avril 2019
Seeing clients and performing daily assessments. Working closely with physicians to determine plan of care for clients. I learn something new everyday. Management is supportive. Workplace culture has room for improvement. The hardest part of my job is mentally being able to stop thinking about work when my shift is over. The most enjoyable part is interacting with clients and seeing them for follow-up care to see their progress.

Rewarding job
Patient Care Coordinator (Employé actuel) –  Surrey, BC13 novembre 2018
Working in the NICU is a stressful, tiring, emotionally draining at times yet very rewarding. It is rewarding when you see those tiny miracles fight for their life and as you watch them grow slowly and able to go home with their family.
Emotionally draining and the most hardest part of the job is when you look after a baby who doesn't make it.
The most enjoyable part of the job is when you see those family coming back at the nicu to say hi.

Micromanage and Low wages
Biomed Rad Service Tech (Employé actuel) –  Surrey,bc20 septembre 2018
Micromanaged, only few people are working ,rest are counting their benefits. System needs lot of changes. Very low wages as compared to living standard here. Because of child education I am still here. Oh! Supervisors are colour blind.

Not much to complain about. Just got to do your job and be a people person (having a positive attitude). Great people to work with. Able to work at a couple sites if you're not a full time personal. Great benefits. All the best and good luck!

Great colleagues but poor management.
Claims Management Associate (Employé actuel) –  Surrey, BC1 août 2018
You will love working at FH but the management is very poor. It is very common at Fraser Health for employees to file complaints and harassment allegations against management as they are either unfair or prejudice. Great benefits and pay is good.

Not bad company, but could be much, much better
Health Unit Aide/Clinical Support (Employé actuel) –  Surrey, BC23 juillet 2018
Support staff are horribly underpaid.
I can't imagine what it would be like if we didn't have a union, although they're not great either.
Lots of people in leadership, so again, another "top heavy" institution where it's overkill and a waste of tax payer's money.

Toxic workplace and unsupportive executive
Manager (Employé actuel) –  Surrey28 juin 2018
There is potential in this workplace but honestly the dysfunction is from the top and trickles down. For example, at a the Management business meeting last June, the CEO talks about being proud of balancing the budget and doesn't mention it was balanced because government bailed him out with almost 50 million dollars to ensure it was balanced. A CEO that is that lacking in transparency is exactly what will drive an organization into the ground
Points positifs
flexibility
Points négatifs
toxic leadership

High paced, stressful environment
Clerk/MOA (Employé actuel) –  Surrey, BC13 juin 2018
Typical day - You would get moved around to different work stations just as you were getting your groove on where you were already sitting.
Management isn't very supportive when it comes to personality conflicts. They don't reinforce policies.
Points négatifs
short staffed, violations of company policies

Management is threatened by young educated and eager to learn. They use intimidation coercion, and threats to keep you on the leash. Most managers do not even have a degree!
Fraser Health is who you know that will get you promoted. A select few are great!

Overall the place is great but the management sucks!

Great benefits and salary - poor senior management
Manager (Ancien employé) –  Surrey, BC26 mars 2018
workplace culture at senior leadership level (director, ED and beyond) does not have open transparent or authentic communication in a consistent manner. this organization is run like a for profit business and is extremely toxic. it is a dog eat dog environment.
clinical care and front line is much better than senior leaders.
Points positifs
in-housee education
Points négatifs
unrealistic expectations of managers from directors and EDs

Fraser Health was a great experience. Working in health care was a new battle but was very rewarding. The workplace is very large but very interesting to see how such a big organization organizes it self.

Healthcare is crumbliung
Rehab Staff (Ancien employé) –  Surrey, BC6 septembre 2017
Poor pay, good work life balance.
Did not get trained in areas I wanted to be in due to staffing levels.
Patients are horrible and the healthcare system is broken.
People misuse the system and we need to go to a semi-private system.
