My time with Fossil ended in early 2016 after a poor 4th quarter caused a number of tough decisions to be made and several locations were closed and upper management suffered some terminations. Although I really did love working there and felt like the support from upper management was there, I opted to leave for something that showed more advancement opportunity beyond a store role.
If you are looking to fine tune your retail skills in a structured, but nurturing environment, Fossil is a great place to work.
Great atmosphere, incredible discounts
Could be difficult to progress beyond a store management level
Training there is very informative so by the time you're on your own you're pretty well prepared to take on most tasks - coworkers are extremely nice as well and understanding if you need help as well. Store management is very understanding and cool, however head office can be a little yikes. There will be bursts of business throughout the day, but on your downtime expect to be organizing bags/under-stock/displays. Also, expect about 10-15 hours a week if you're not full time (which you likely won't be) and about 4-9 hours if you're particularly bad at selling.
